I'm pretty new to Amity - and I'm hoping you wonderful folks can help me out!

I have hardwood floors throughout my house. I also have a Hoover FloorMate which I love... However, it says to use the floor cleaner chemicals that they sell.... I would rather use something safer for my kids and the environment... Does anyone know if you can use something different with good results and without trashing the machine??

Also, if I use the stuff they sell, do you think I should do a rinse after so that my kiddos don't touch the cleaner?

Thanks!
Maria

Hi girl! I didn't get to talk to you today...:wah:

I have the "Clean House, Clean Planet" book from Marcey. I think there are several recipes in there...I'll look it up for you.

I'm sure others have a better answer than me!

As long as you don't use anything that foams a lot, like dishwashing liquid, it should be fine. I used to use Orange Clean for everything. I love the smell of orange in my house!

My friend uses anything in hers to clean the floors. She never buys the cleaner they sell b/c it's freaking expensive!! LOL I have one too, but rarely use it, so I've not run out of the cleaner that came with it yet.
