I "played" along with the person who is attempting to order items from me in Nigeria. The final request was for $5,000 in cell phones plus whatever they order from my site.

I have since received the credit card # and have now shut that credit card number down through the appropriate bank.

So, should you feel like being a good citizen and going to far as to receive the credit card numbers, we as a GROUP could make a considerable dent in the fraud of good American citizens.

If you decide to go so far to receive cc info from the Nigerians, you can call 1-800-847-2750 to find out the issueing bank for the card and their phone number (takes about 30 seconds after you enter the cc#). The call the bank that holds that cc and ask to speak to someone in security. Explain you are a small biz owner, the request from the nigerians and they will place a hold on the card and notify the proper owner immediately.

Whole thing, including receiving info from the Nigerian has taken less than 30 minutes.

I also wanted to add, please feel free to c/p this information to other boards or groups, rings etc. that you frequent.

Lets see how much fraud we can all stop together.

bumping this casue I did a search after your other thread on the nigerians, LOL! I never thought to do it :thumb

Now, for the nigerians you're dealign with now, I'd tell them in not so many words that you're unable to fulfill their order with the fraudulent credit cards they've provided, and if they would be willing to provide a real # that belongs TO THEM, then you'll process the order :rolleyes They'll go away, I'm sure.

I was playing along with a couple of these guys a couple months ago. Here is a neat site... this lady has done MANY of these "scam the scammers" and posts them on her site.
