Alfalfa, Nettle, Oatstraw, and peppermint tea is the "milk tea" I make. It is wonderful stuff... a friend of mine showed me the recipe a few years back.

Val's suggestion sounds yummy! Fennel's fine too. I took it for heartburn when I was pg. Oatmeal would also be good.

Also, I found oatmeal worked really pretty well.

Isn't there one called milk thistle that helps?

Not sure how to put things in the breastfeeding archives....
But I talked with a friend and she said that red rasberry would be good in it too... it is a good mama tea for anytime... but in times of added psyical stress (like being pg and still nursing) it is very helpful. :)

all those things are great : )
Just remember...that despite what you do your milk supply can dissappear. Or ds can decide he doesn't want to nurse anymore-becasue of taste or decreased supply.
I had tons of milk when I was preggo and dd only nursed once or twice a day at most.
It will be what it will be : )
Good luck ttc!!!have fun.;)

I really don't want to rain on your parade, so to speak, but just for the flip side I thought I should pipe up that in the reading I have done, mint is detrimental to the milk supply.
I do hope you keep some milk. LLL I believe says that 67% of women experience dramatic reduction/disappearence of supply during PG. I did herbs, oatmeal, everything, and still was totally dry by about 10 weeks. Which sucked to no end since ds was only 3.5 months when we conceived. It was pretty traumatic for me. I hope you experience is way better!

yeah i know that more than likely my milk will dry up. that is why we have decided to continue letting ds nurse whenever he wats to instead of encouraging him to eat solids so it will be easier to concieve...i will get preggo in time...i hope anyway.:)

There's an herb tea you can buy called Tea For Two. It's for safely increasing milk supply during pregnancy and I highly recommend it. I drank it every day when I was pregnant and my milk NEVER dried up. I also drank tons of water and ate whenever I was hungry.

I had TONS of milk thru my entire pregnancy and was almost hosptalized several times because i was soo very sick during my pregnancy.
I was unable to eat or drink much and yet by some miracle my milk stayed, so while I don't have any advice on what you can take to keep supply up I just wanted to let you know that some people (and you could very well be one of them) are just really luck and your milk will stay and your child will continue to want to nurse thru the whole pregnancy.
so don't worry, do take the suppliments of course but just trust your body and your child and most of all...enjoy this wonderful time
CONGARTULATIONS!!!!!
