I made these without a pattern, so each one would be different. (Also I think I'm a glutton for punishment because if I end up making something I want to make again, its hard to reproduce)

I just so happened to write down the instructions for making the smaller one so I wouldn't forget (and I traced the pieces I made too) I forgot to trace the larger mushroom before I started putting it together.

You will need:

*Felt for the cap top (or you can use woven)
*woven for the underside of cap, bottom of stem and side of stem pieces(I had some scrap textured woven fabric so I decided to use it)
*embriodery thread
*something to stuff the mushrooms with (I used scrap fabric)
*1 stone/glass for the bottom of the mushroom to give it some weight (I used aquarium stones, or I've seen them used in flower arranging and other crafts)
*Needle and thread to sew it all together

But here are the basic demensions of the pattern pieces (these are approximations since the original pieces were cut freehand).

Cut 1 - cap top - circle 2 3/4 inches across

Cut 1 - underside cap - circle 2 inches across.

Cut 1 - stem side- rectangle 3 1/2 inches X 1 inch

Cut 2 - stem bottom - circle 1 3/8 inches across

Directions:

ALL SEAMS ARE BETWEEN 1/8 and 1/4 inch

1. Embroider or applique spots/dots on cap top piece. I used a satin stitch and a french knot (kinda, I'm not the best at hand embroidery which why I thought about applique also).
2. Gather cap top slightly until its opening is 1/4-1/2 inch smaller than the "underside cap" piece and stuff.
3. Handstitch the 2 cap pieces together
4. Handstitch the side seam (the smaller side) on the "stem side" piece right sides together
5. Handstitich one of the "bottom of stem" pieces to the "stem side" right sides together
6. Turn and put the other bottom stem piece in the bottom of the stem, then place your stone and stuff the rest of the stem up to about 1/8-1/4 inch from top
7. Handstitch the stem onto the cap

Here are some ideas I had for making more of these:

Use tye dyed wool for cap top or printed fabric, so you wouldn't have to embellish it further
I was thinking of using earthy tones for some different mushroom colors like off whites, oranges and browns. These would be perfect for a fall nature table.

Here are the finished demensions of the taller mushroom if you want to figure out the pattern pieces, LOL:

Cap top: 3 1/2 inches across
Cap underside: 2 1/2 inches across
Stem side: (I made this a slight cone shape) part of the top (where it attaches to the cap) is 2 3/4 inches around, the bottom is 3 1/2 inches around and the whole stem is 1 3/4 inches tall
Stem bottom is about 1 inch across
