I want to go to my best friend's for her blessingway in October. I did not have the money to book a wonderful flight two weeks ago. Now that flight is gone, or I can't find it. I need to try to stay under $250. Where can I go to get the lowest price? $322 is the lowest I can find for Montgomery to Seattle and back. The flight I wanted was $257. :( I have tried Hotwire.com, That is the $322. Anywhere else is $397. I can fly out of Birmingham for $227 but I would have to drive up there and pay for parking ($10 a day for extended lot for 5 days.) Plus, I have a SUV. Gas won't be cheap.

So, where do you find your cheapest tickets? Thanks.

dunno if they fly from or where you're going, but airtran (maybe an s on the end) is who we've been using for our last few flights :)

are your dates at all flexible? it's cheapest to fly (generally) Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday.

I flew Wednesday the last time I went to visit my family back east and it was NICE! No lines, friendly staff... Doing that again this time.

We fly Southwest alot, but they're not always cheapest. We use sidestep (http://www.sidestep.com/home.html?SbAutoOpen=1) to help search for flights.

There's always priceline... but you've gotta be flexible and know just how low to set your price.

Atlanta is AirTran's hub.....at least the last time I flew with them. They are very very cheap, but I don't think they go West at all.... :(

Have you tried calling a travel agent? SOmetimes they can get awesome deals!

Well I spent over an hour today on priceline, hotwire and orbitz. I finally ended up calling American Airlines and got a price cheaper on the phone than I could get even bidding on the tickets on priceline.

So you might trying calling. OH also if Southwest flys there you might check on Tuesday when they list there internet specials. They have been running some really cheap fares.

AirTrans does have wonderful prices. However, they only go west to LA and San Fran. I am headed to Seattle. Bummer.

I may call Delta (fly out of Montgomery) and Northwest (out of Atlanta) and see what I can get on the phone.

To know my lowest price for Priceline.com, could I use the price I saw that ticket for two weeks ago? Otherwise, how would I know. I have never flown before.

anyone used hotwire and/or priceline where you name your price and they attempt to get it for you? Hotwire is showing me a price but not times. Priceline will only attempt to get the price I want and if they can't, I am stuck. Hotwire would save me $50 over expedia. But, I am not sure that is worth it to not know my flight times. I do not want to be getting into Seattle at 1 a.m. to have a very pg mama and two kids pick me up. KWIM? But, I might chance it if I could save over $100. Any advice?
