Here are some small things that make me smile...

Putting on my freshly washed favorite pair of PJs

Putting on one pair of my fav socks -- soft material or fun pattern

Watching my children play imagination type stuff without them knowing I am watching

A cool/cold autumn day w/ some candles and special hot drinks (tea, flavored coffee, cocoa)

Clean sheets on my bed

A letter or note from a friend in the snail mail (I usually get bills and junk mail)

Waking up in the morning with all my family in the bed. Not a morning person and it may take me time to actually get out of bed, but I love those first moments when we all discover each other -- the kids smile and start to chatter.

Finding something that I thought was lost or just finding something unexpected - a $5 bill in a coat pocket.

Having all of my laundry washed and put away - ok, so this lasts two seconds on the rare occassions we ever arrive at that point.

Of course, the bigger things make me smile too -- spa treatments, fun family outings, etc. But I am trying to focus on the small stuff too.

Add yours!

The sweet smell of my breastfed baby.

When my girls sneak up to kiss their baby on the head.

Icecream on a hot summer day.

Notes and pictures for me from my girls.

My girls.

Sunshine patches on the floor.

Packages in the mail, especially when I am not expecting them.

Clean fresh diapers right out of the dryer.

Soft sheets.

A nap.

A hug.

Driving with the windows open.

And I have found recently that even the smell of spitty baby can make my heart melt LOL

The feel of the breeze against my cheeks in late January/early February

This morning.. my two older children were sitting on the couch looking through a catalog.. one with lots of toys and halloween costumes.. Faith had her head on James' shoulder and James was "reading" the catalog to Faith. It was just so sweet watching them sit there for once, not fighting but cuddling with each other!! Made my heart melt. :)

My husband works late on Friday nights and quitely laid a card beside me when he got home.
Outside it has two hands holding and says Everytime I hold your hand (inside) I fall in love all over again...
He wrote... I just wanted to say I love you more then you'll ever know and though I don't say it near as much as I should... I couldn't live without you.

Anyone that knows my husband know he's NOT a romantic person and for him to even BUY a card, I was floor and speechless to say the least.

I was very happy and it brought tears to my eyes.
