THis is pretty nifty... you answer some questions, and it gives you your kids personality type. Devin is a ENP - it really explained a lot about him...what types of things will not go ever well hs'ing wise, and suggestions. It was pretty close on the mark.

Have fun!

thanks so much for posting that. it was lots of fun. don't ask me why the shrink here didn't even know that Myers and Briggs were making a child version of their test! so valuable!

That's a cool test :) It just irritated me that they said to put "don't know" for questions, but it wouldn't score the test until I had answered EVERY SINGLE question (I couldn't put don't know for any). Just my gripe, lol. It was right on the money for us, though.

Ya know what-- I learned something this AM! Liam and I actually share the same personality type, and I NEVER in a million years would have guessed that. Some of the social hesitancy I have seen in him is actually right in line with the personlaity type, and so many other things are right on the money too. We are both Introverted Thinking Perceiving. I guess I didnt realize it, because somewhere along the way my personality type changed-- as a small child I was very extroverted. I endured a LOT of teasing in school though, and I think that made me more introverted-- I became more hesitant and less trustful.
So I wonder if Liam is an ITP child because I am an ITP adult? Dh May be considered ITP as well-- I need to ask him, lol his bachelors is in psych.
very interesting-- thank you!

How were guys able to do your little ones? Did you just answer the questions for the main test? It was meant for older kids. Whenever I tried to do the test for the younger ones it just said "coming soon".

I'm going back to go see if I can test for Logan. Really curious about him now.....

Well, I just did that with Logan. It's not so dead on with younger children. Devin's was almost perfect explaining him.....I'm not so sure about Logan. Logan's and ITP - and it had one line "this child enjoys taking physical risks" Um....no....Logan keeps his feet firmly on the ground and is VERY scared of heights, slides, swings, etc. There were other things that didn't sound quite right, but perhaps it was skewed because I really couldn't answer a whole lot of the questions. Devin's was dead on though.

Glad everyone is having fun with this.... I think it's fun and valuable.

how old is he again??? Liam was ITP, but these all fit him perfectly:
1. Logical and objective
2. Tend to be adventurous, and enjoy taking physical risks
3. They're original and value their uniqueness this isnt really applicable right now
4. They're highly independent, and don't like being told what to do
5. They have no interest in controlling or leading others, or telling them what to do
6. Quiet and serious
7. Honest and directthis isnt really applicable right now
8. They're very observant
9. Curious and interested in learning new things
10. Quick to learn new things
11. Not overly affectionate or demonstrative of their love
12. They enjoy books
13. They have a tendency to be loners, and may have one or two friends, rather than lots of acquaintances
14. They're very easy-going and undemanding
15. Often prefer to work alone rather than in groups
16. They want to be good at things that interest them, and they apply their own standards rather than trying to impress anyone else
17. They get bored easily
18. They value precision in communication, and are irritated by exaggerations and half-truths this isnt really applicable right now

Potential Strengths

1. When interested in something, they exhibit extreme competence and will master it completely
2. They're flexible and can adapt well to new situations -- this is not applicable in all sitautions to liam, but most he is fairly easygoing with--- situations where large amts of socialization are expected make him nervous, but IMO that is in keeping with the personality type.
3. Laid-back and easy-going, they're usually easy to get along with
4. Strong sense of fairness this isnt really applicable right now
5. They're highly observant, and quickly incorporate new data into their thinking
6. They're usually quite intelligent, and able to do well in higher education
7. They're quite honest and truthfulthis isnt really applicable right now
8. They take things seriously, and are seldom frivolous or flightythis isnt really applicable right now
9. They have open and accepting natures, although they're not always interested in people

Potential Weaknesses

1. They don't have a good sense of time or schedules, and may frequently run late or miss deadlines lol this is so ME it isnt even funny, not really applicable to liam yet though
2. They will strongly resist being told what to do, which may present a discipline problem
3. They do not like to make decisions, and prefer to leave things open until the last possible moment
4. They will resist doing anything that they don't feel like doing
5. They're often unaware of how others are feeling, or how their own behavior affects others
6. They keep their own feelings closely guarded and well-hidden from others, sometimes even from themselves
7. When stressed out or upset, they may react with extreme emotions that are inappropriate or exaggerated for the situation
8. Highly objective and detached, they may have difficulty forming close bonds with people
9. With their risk-taking natures, they might get into some trouble

It is really really terribly accurate for him, and makes me realize that so many things about him are just facets of his personality. It also gives me things to work on, because I can see some of the weaknesses more clearly. Anyway, thanks again :)

Although it's meant for older kids, I just did this on Whitley (3) and it says she is an ETJ - no wonder I am often at a loss as to what to do with her disclipline-wise, etc. I am an INFP, so complete opposites. :D Ah, I love her personality. I wish I were more like her. The description was pretty much right on.

I just did this for Lauren and though I didn't expect much (she's only 2.5), I have to admit I think it's pretty dead on for her. Some of the things made me giggle. She is an ESP and one of the weaknesses is a love of money. I know this isn't the same, but it made me giggle because she is currently obsessed with coins. She scavenges DH's desk for pocket change to put in her piggy bank. If I get change at the store it has to go to her (For the piggy again). It just amused me too much.

ESP Traits

1. They want to do everything in a BIG way
2. They have LOTS of energy
3. They love the outdoors
4. They love animals
5. They love to participate in sports and other physical activities
6. They're extremely aware of their environment
7. They have a strong aesthetic appreciation for beauty
8. They need to be constantly busy, and usually have several projects going on
9. They are usually artistic
10. They love to be the center of attention
11. They're very practical and grounded in reality

Potential Strengths

1. They're generally cheerful and almost always in a good mood
2. They're usually popular and well-liked by almost everyone
3. They pick up on other people's behaviors and attitudes more quickly than any other type
4. They get a great deal of enjoyment out of life, and treat life like a big party
5. They have a very good memory for details
6. They're extremely observant - the most observant of all of the types
7. They're extremely generous
8. They like and accept almost everyone

Potential Weaknesses

1. Their general acceptance of everyone may make them poor judges of character
2. They love money
3. They tend to be materialistic
4. They cannot see the big picture in most situations
5. They tend to be thrill-seekers
6. They may be overly loud and boisterous
7. They are very impulsive
8. They do not have the ability to use their intuition at all, or extrapolate anything from one situation into another
9. They frequently do not follow through on tasks or plans
10. They have a difficult time taking anything seriously
11. They live in the present moment, and have difficulty forseeing the consequences to their actions

That was very interesting! And, right on. I remember doing the Meyers-Briggs in college and dd is the same as I used to be. I'm a bit different now, and it causes some conflict between us. I have to remember that she *needs* to talk constantly, about everything, and works things out verbally. I don't and it drives me crazy! LOL My brain starts to fizzle.
