Does new grout have to be dry before it is sealed or can that be done at the same time? I know nothing about this! We had a new floor put in and they were supposed to seal it but never came back so I don't know if it was done or not. I want a 2nd opinion before I call them and take their word for it.

Thank you!

The grout needs to be dried before the seal is applied. Just make sure nothing wet can get on the floor before you apply seal to it! :)

It needs to be dried before you can use the sealer. I sealed our grout at the last house, I know I did it right too...and we still had discoloration in the high traffic areas.

That's a fancy name for salesperson...

Yes, it has to be dry. Like a week or so dry...

Depending on where the floor is and what color of grout you have would affect my decision to bother sealing it... If it's in the kitchen or is a light color...I might seal it. We have a light grey grout on our bathroom floor tile...ivory on backsplash, fireplace and bathroom walls... I've never sealed any of it....

If you are sealing it...you have to take a small brush and paint all the lines with the sealer...

Thank you everyone. I am  that the tile people didn't say anything. The grout is a light color, so we definitely want it sealed. They will be coming back.

Does anyone know the best way to clean porcelain tile? This is all so new to me! I've never had anything nice enough to really care how I cleaned it, just that it was clean. LOL
