The section in the sixth grade book is a bit short on Health and Fine Arts. Any other books I can use? I know where to find materials to supplement but I want a type of textbook to start with.

I also am suppose to teach Civil Government "including the privileage and responsibility of citzenship" Whatever that means!

For health I really like Abekas "Choosing Good Health"

Fine arts?? Hmm would that be art as in drawing or as in art appreciation??

Kathy,

For fine arts, I would use the books Veritas Press suggests.
http://www.veritaspress.com/store/products.asp?dept=1056&Grade=Sixth&Subject=Art

I would not get a traditional text book on something like art.
I have seen many a text book take art and make it BORING!

Hope

The art section is bad. Mostly black and white. My dd's book had a section on quilts. I found a much better book with colorful and creative quilts that we could compare. I was looking for more art work that we could study from.

Someone told me that got a book on citizenship from their 4H club I am going to look there.

I am interested in you books, I just need to know if the union will be striking or not. So I am being extra thrifty for now.

Don't know if you have found anything for government study yet, but when I was homeschooled, we used the Abeka goverernment and economics (no longer available but I am sure Abeka's new one is just as good if not better.)
