When I read here I use the view new post options, that way I can see everything, but I get so annoyed that I have to click through at least the first page of a thread to get to the last page. It's better now that I got DSL than it was with slow dial up, but it's still extra pages to go through to get where I'm going. Is it possible for the pages to be listed on the main page so you could just click on the page number you want to go to like you can when you actually go to the forums. Sorry if this post is confusing I wish I could better explain what I'm trying to say. Thanks!

Have you tried using the "Go to first unread post" link, which looks also like an arrow pointing downwards? Usually that works for me (though occasionally it seems to get broken, generally when the site traffic is heavier). I hope that's what you meant. You can set how many post you have per page on your options page too. I see 50 posts per page, so I never have too many pages to go through. Usually only one.

Also, some suggested somewhere else. You can turn off the option to see sigs and avs which speeds things up a whole lot!

great suggestions, Denise! I too have "50 posts per page", and have been known to turn off the avatars and sig lines when on dial-up. In extreme cases, I've been known to turn off *all* pictures, through my IE browser's advanced tools.
