I picked the colors for their relaxing (to me) quality. Of COURSE  it's not perfect, but it looks pretty cool to me! I wanted to have a mama embroider me some squares, but didn't have the $ at the time. So I used regular embroidery floss and did some stuff myself: a heart with Tim & Stacy 9-2-95 (our anniversary) and a heart with Justin 6-3-99 in it, a butter fly, a bird house and a few other things.

It is machine sewn, but hand quilted...still have TONS more to do, but my hand/fingers/arm got tired! LOL Used a queen sheet for backing and rolled up the edges to use for the binding.

What's a GITCH? It's one of J's baby blankets. :) Scottie loves to sleep on our bed so I try to put one of J's old baby blankets UNDER him. :)

Looks GREAT!! I had started a quilt years ago and, of course, never finished it. I'm proud of you for getting it done enough to actually use it! LOL!! Great work, mama!

Well, not to brag, but it only took me 3 days from start to finish. Now, I DO have some more hand quilting to do to keep the backing/batting and quilt-top from seperating, but other than that, it's done and usable! Already washed it and everything! (darned ds and his chocolate milk! ARGH!)

Oh yeah, the quilt you see hanging behind the head of the bed is another quilt I made..I literally laid the sheeting, batting and then the quilt-top and sort of embroidery stitched it..took a few SPOOLS of thread and over a week to complete! I laid down the pieces of fabric, tacked them down, and then did the stitch. It took me SOO long and I was about to call it quits more than once. It has a patchy sort of look to it. :) It's pretty neat! Oh, and i's covering a double-window...dh needs dark during the day when he's asleep (works nights).

Stacy that is beautiful! Had I known you were wanting some embroidery, I would have embroidered some squares for you. Ah well - too late now. I miss ya girl. Been thinkin' of you a lot today. Hope all is well. I've been sewing a lot as well. Nothing as cool as a quilt, but I've made an awful lot of napkins! LOL! Talk to you later!

Hey, I could use some girl and boy kid type 6" by 6" squares embroidered...I can add them to the twin patchwork quilts I'm making to sell to make $ for Mason's training. :)

I miss you too, hun. Seems we're both uber busy this summer. Ya know what? When it starts to get cold outside most folks tend to be indoors and on the computer a wee bit more.

I'll be here!

Edited to add: The patchwork quilt in the pic is made with 6" by 6" squares...that's basically how the twin patchwork quilts I'm making will look (only in TWIN size! LOL)
:)
