Last night C and I went to Applebees for dessert and coffee while my mom and her husband came over to do devotions with our teens. I went to the bathroom before we left, and I heard noises coming from the stall next to me - at first I thought someone was sick, then I realized it was a nursing baby! I was almost sick - there was a strong deoderizer odor in there, I couldn't imagine taking my plate in there to eat! I wanted to talk to her but there were other people in the bathroom and I didn't want to embarrass her.
And they wonder why babies go on nursing strikes.

It's a shame that some mamas aren't comfortable nursing in public. At our Applebees, the benches of the booths are so low in relation to the tables, it would be possible to nurse there with nobody seeing it at alll.
My SIL is like that, she always brings bottles of EBM to family functions. This after seeing me and another SIL nurse our kids at family functions over the last 5 years. She's just not comfortable with the whole nursing thing, she can't wait to stop :(

That sucks! I have become bolder & bolder as to where & when I will nurse Tyler, which ends up being anywhere and anytime, lol.
Though, right now, he is going through a phase where he won't nurse in public- he is way too interested in seeing what is going on around him. Usually, I will bring him out to the car if we are out somewhere distracting, though, I might pick the bathroom in a pinch.

There have been places where I felt uncomfortable nursing Cathlin and Jason too - like when they want to look around all the time (and I flash everyone) - but if I had walked in this bathroom I would have found SOMEWHERE else to do it, even if I had to go out in the car! This Applebees has remodeled and they have BRIGHT lights right over each booth, so I can see where the baby might have been distracted. But when you walk in they have a darkened waiting area with low booths, and it waas late so no one was waiting - I would have sat there since it's off to the side.

OK, I'll admit that I've nursed in the bathroom before. :o
But, it was with a 2 week old and she wasn't latching on very well. I was afraid of exposing myself to a table full of people my DH works with at a wedding reception.
I did NOT nurse in the stall though. I stood infront of the sink off to the side. I had several ladies come in and want to look at the baby and they didn't know I was nursing
There was even one lady who said she had left her newborn at home and couldn't stay long becasue he was going to get hungry. :(
BTW, this was in Mexico where few of the "well off" nurse. Usually just the indigent. (who also sling their babies!)
