I can't believe it... one of my cats peed on my knitting bag :wah: Is there anything that can be done to save the yarn? I just discovered it while packing for my camping trip. I guess I'd better start a new project :(

If it was expensive yarn I'd try to save it. Get a piece of 2x4 and pound in 2 big nails 2 feet or so apart and wrap the yarn around it. Use short pieces of scrap yarn to tie it in several places. Take it off the nails and hand wash gently (add a little vinegar to cut the pee smell)
This may or may not work but like I said good yarn is an investment and it would be worth a try to me.

OH geez, I don't know but my sympathy is with you. That really really really sucks!!
Maybe a pet store has a cat urine remover??

pet stores do sell stuff to get cat urine out. the other thing that comes to mind is oxi clean. i would test one of theese on a small bit of the yarn and if it goes well then wash the it all the way amelia said.
good luck

Another suggestion for washing the yarn would be to put it inside of a pillowcase and rubberband it shut. You might be able to put this bag into the washer on the delicate cycle with cold water. Then I would wrap it the long way tauntly around a long board as someone else suggested and let it dry that way, then wrap it into balls.
What kind of yarn is it?

I like the nails and the 2x4 idea...I would attach the cat to that, then work on the yarn:p
( Just jokin',of course!)
