I want this to be anonymous so people feel comfortable answering. I am just wanting to get an idea because down the road, I may need to bring in some income. When I say e-baying, I just mean general selling wherever.
If you feel comfortable explaining "other" or adding anything, feel free.
And yes, I made a typo -- should be DOWN the road but I can't edit it.

Actual cash "income" isn't as high as I voted, but I included trades. ;) I generally trade or barter for about 50% of what I do, so I get our soap, diapers, some clothes, etc that way, and it helps cause we don't have to take that $ out of our budget then.
I have a set monthly goal and I divide it up by what I need to do to reach that goal, then do sales or other stuff if it looks like I'm not close enough. I also do eBay if I need to, or sell diapers or whatever I can here.
When I first started out I made way less, and it's been a gradual thing as I built up a client base.
There have been some good threads in the past about income for wahmamas. A lot of wahms either work just to cover their "mad money" for an evening out or little extras here and there, or else have a particular bill they cover like groceries (that's one of mine).
Don't know if that helps, but good luck with whatever you decide! :)
Edited to add... I'm *not* the one who responded with $2000! :hahaha: Someone asked me, so I thought I'd add this note. :D But great job to whichever mama that was!!

Lurker here...I am doing pretty well, but I spent hours and hours and hours and hours working on my business. My DH is my full-time partner too.
For the longest time, the income from my biz (not sure if I am allowed to mention it) was a nice little supplement. But then it grew so much to where it was more than DH so he quit to help me. And it's strange how it just happened sort of out of my control. It's a wild ride!

Hey that's really cool Kristen - I remember you from the PP AP Board and the Network 54 one (which I visit once in a while). Good to know Hot Slings is doing so well !!! I remember when you had just started out.......
ETA - though I voted below $300 its more of a hobby cos I only try to sell when I find myself spending too much on fabric / yarn. I do sell at local boutique (they contact me whenever they need more) and DH did tell me to approach other boutiques here but I get nervous thinking about that lol.....

Welcome Kristen!
You are totally allowed to mention your business here - this link and anywhere on market board. You can spam away. It's quite different than the PP Boards.

I do what I can...when I can! :)
I love doing art work for clients, and I end up giving a lot as gifts. I also get contacted quite often from charitable organizations for my pics to be in a silenct auction or a raffle. The last one I donated was purchased for over $300.00! I was so excited, and the money went for a wonderful cause.
It is a great feeling to have a little money tucked away that I can surprise my family with a special fun treat. Last summer, the extra $ went for our huge electric bill. That'll work too! ;)
So, I definitely voted for the under $300. While Kent has been having chemo/radiation, I haven't done anything. Last Nov/December holiday season, I made over $300.

I make my entire income from my business, but I sew mostly 7 days a week, morning and night. I do take a day off once in a while and I take lots of breaks, some days LOL I am single, a grandma, no kids at home so I can do pretty much what I need to. I raised my two girls, pretty much alone, no help from Dad X-husband. Grew tired of the rat race work place, started this business while working, quit, and now this is what I do. My business pays the bills most of the time. I put in late nights and long days, by the way did I mention? I am stocking tomorrow about 2pm cdt. Come check out my store! www.tykiediapers.com

My business officially started in May when I openened my web site. I have not really made a profit yet as I am spedning everyhting I made on supplies. LIke this, I had a day where i made 80.00 in sales, In turn o bought 50 dollars in snaps and 30.00 in sherpa. there it went.
BUT i only sew 4 nights a week, and I do email only and web updating on fridays, I dont work weekends, ( unless I ablsolutely have to) and i NEVER work on sunday, my work hours are 7-10 nightly, Thats it I dont even get on teh computer during the day anymore. I need to spend alot more time with my kids, so that is the decision i made. The fact I started my business peice by peice and i dont owe anyone, I figure i am blessed to be breaking even after just a few months..... I was even able to buy my dd a bike today.

I have been doing pretty well for just starting out. I have had my site up for a little more than 2 months and I have sold 125 carriers since. I started on Ebay and sold around 45 in a couple of months time. I have been able to buy a brand new industrial sewing machine, and embroidery machine. So at least I have something to show for it! Oh yeah also a down payment on a new car, I hope it really takes off and we will be able to buy a house in San Diego someday! (yeah in like 20 years!)

I just started my lastest business, so I didn't vote but I just have to say how incredibly adorable and funny those photos are of Snow White with her tantrum and Rondi's son eating something that isn't too agreeable...! Those photos just made my day!!

Lurker here, and I never know if I "count" as a WAHM on these boards - I run a licensed family child care in our home. I've been doing it for almost 12 years, and make a pretty good gross income, unfortunately what I actually get to keep after taxes and expenses is less than half the gross. :( But it's still worth it to be home with my children! :)
