View Full Version : Anyone had a rubber stamp custom made?

I'm working on labels and thought a custom stamp would be a nice choice right now. I could stamp it on anything and re-use is always high on the list.
I'm not talking about the 2 or 3 line printed business stamps but the liquid polymer or acrylic/silicone type craft stamps. Mounted on wood.
I'm just looking for some place that will take my design and turn it into a stamp. Any ideas?

I don't think they are terribly expensive.

That will be cute! I had an embosser made- but not biz specific- so I can use it on everything I made- it says handmade by Sarah Marie Rainwater and I emboss them on my hang tags and such! It has a little hand in the middle too!

Sarah, is that one of those corporate seal type thingies? It leaves an impression on paper?
I've looked at that too, for paper products. They are very cool and quite reasonable. I wanted a rubber stamp that I could use on paper and also on twill tape. I was thinking fabric ink pads would work on twill tape.
Of course I should experiment around a bit with a regular stamp before I fork out for a custom stamp, I suppose. LOL.

Katie I'm stalking your thread because I love the idea. I'd love to do something simmilar but with just my basic "BonaDea San Clemente, CA" that I always used. But I don't have a clue about where to get a stamp made (using fun fonts) or what type of ink would be permenate.

Katie- Yeah it's for paper and does the impression. For labels I think I am going to do it the way with the iron on- talked about in the sewing forum a while ago!

I'm not entirely sure, but I think most personalization shops that have (decent) laser engraving machine could probably make a custom (rubber or other materials?) stamp. But I might be totally off...

This company makes Fabrico markers and stamp pads. I've heard great things but have not yet tried them. I know they're available just about everywhere.
I'm almost positive my mil has some fabrico stamps (she's a stampin up demonstrator) so I'm going to track her down tomorrow and test.
Here's a link:
http://www.tsukineko.com/store/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=3032
Description says to prewash and heat set. I'm going to test both ways on twill tape.
off to check your links.........

Impressrubber stamps is really reasonable, I think. Less than 10 bucks.
I might give them a whirl. I'm going to ask that they not mount it on the wood tho so I can mount it on an acrylic block like this:

The clear block makes it easier to line up on a thin piece of twill.

My local stamp store does them -- you should find one and ask, maybe yours does too! I was going to have my dd's newborn footprints and handprints made into stamps. I think it was about 25.00.
