We did this just before we moved. Even though it was a pain, it sure was worth the effort. Toy pick-up is a lot easier and certainly less stressful.

Can you pick out a certain amount of outfits including shoes for Barbie and put the rest away or get rid of them? My son had WAY too many GI Joes and I put them away until he learns to pick up after himself better. It was hard to do but worth it.

I feel ya...
I keep looking in the door to dd's room...I have just got to get in there and do something about it...my little packrat....
Fortunately, she's never been interested in Barbie, so her collection is limited to a doll or 2... Unfortunately...it's stuffed animals...she's attached to each and every one of the millions in her room.... That and paper...many, many pieces of worthless (to me, anyway) paper....
Maybe, I'll get in there tomorrow....

I'm decluttering and ridding dd of it forever! There's a planned garage sale this Saturday. LOL. It's just the process. Dd must be over it too. She's not putting up the stink I thought she would once I started throwing things in the "out the door" box.
What is it about 7 year old little girls and snippets of paper? Gee whiz, we have an abundance of that too.
Sigh. Back to it....
:p

*lol* I am sorry for laughing .. but around here it seems like the girls are obsesed with everything.
They love polly pockets ( TALK ABOUT SMALL PEICES UGH ) .. the youngest 2 put their money from christmas before last together and got all the different pollys .. then this christmas did the same again.
I HATE polly pockets .. their shoes and clothes seem to poof disapear or end up on the floor in the hall way or kitchen .. its insane ... the girls are presently at at their mothers (because my fiance let her have temporary custody becuase the girls wanted to bad to go there because we and their grandparents are soooo terribly mean ) and the girls took all their pollys over there .. YAY * happy snoopy dance over the loss of the polly pockets *
We still have barbies and GI Joe's here. They have WAY WAY to many barbie Vehicles though and no where to put them. I think it will come down to making them decide on 2-4 of them .. Right now they have a carrage and horse, limo, dune buggy, convertable, a jeep, and i don't know what else.
They have a collection of slip and slides which they never want to pick up out of the yard after they are finished so one of them is toast now because of dirt sticking to it. So those will get tossed at the end of the summer YAY .. then i will watch at walmart i guess for them to get to $4 and by 1 or 2 for christmas not 4 DUMB idea DUMB *lol*
The youngest has a collection of stuffed animals on her bed none the less .. which i reduced by 4 garbage bags a few weeks ago and that i will continue to reduce until she has her favs only on her bed. Since she doesn't really play with them they are just there and she can't see them because they are piled on top of each other. There are atleast 4 more garbage bags full on her bed right now .
The youngest also has to many clothes because one of her friends gave her a garbage bag full of clothes when she moved away and couldn't take them with her. I do not think that most of them fit and i have taken out all that i am sure do not fit just on size. Most of them she wants to keep because she has had them for such a long time. She's a pack rat * nods* she collects things like rocks, sticks, and odd bits and peices to make "art " which she never makes * smacks my head*
We also have a major problem with crayons markers and paper .. they are tossed this way and that. Never in one spot .. yeah i think there is some sort of obsesion in young girls to gather paper .. and pens. Kasey has an obsession with sharpie pens. I just dont get it *lol*
