View Full Version : if you've made the glass magnets...or want to
A heads up for you and question:
JoAnn's has the larger glass flat gems on sale for 88cents each bag, down from $2.29 each bag.
Now if only I had ink to print out all these darn pictures I cropped down to 1"!
If you have done this and taken them to be printed on photo paper how do you get them all on 1 sheet? They are on 1 sheet now using Microsoft Works Portfolio but when I go to copy shop no one can open it. Would it be ok to print them on regular paper backed with cardstock? Otherwise I can put them on disc without a program but then wouldn't be able to get them all on 1 sheet and charged for each sheet would be very expensive.

What I did was take all the pictures and put them in a word document, measuring to make sure they were the right size (using the ruler at the top of word). Then I uploaded them online at kinkos.com and printed them in color on high quality paper. It only cost .99/sheet and I could get tons on a sheet. Worked perfect.

Yes, please, I want to know too! : ) And...
What software did you use to turn your pictures into little 1" circles? I'm clueless on that.
Thanks much for the heads up on JoAnns' sale!

Thanks Allison. Now makes sense. We have Kinko's here bu tno one could open my cd files. I never thought to upload them to the website.
Everyone, see the directions in the Craft along forum or do search for magnets. You need silicone sealant as the glue. Get extra strong magnets to hold up the weight of the glass, but remember not to put them near your computer! No where else in town could I even find the large clear gems. Some had the diamond cut some opaque..so I was pleased to find them at JoAnn's at a good deal too.

I just made them small squares. Then I glued the gems on top of the picture and used an exacto to cut them into the right shape. The gems aren't perfect circles, so you don't want the pictures to start as circles.
