I am going camping this weekend with my family and bought some garlick tabs as a bug repellent. I just read on the bottle that I should not take it while lactating. Why is that? Are there any other natural alternatives that I can take? Advice?
Thanks
D
The manufacturers are required to put that on all supplement labels. It's even on prenatal vitamins and Mother's Milk tea. Garlic is fine when you're breastfeeding. In fact, studies have shown that babies suck longer and more vigorously after their mothers eat garlic. Apparently, they like garlic-flavored milk.

Depending on how old your baby is, I would try it at home first. My dd was highly opposed to garlic in my breast milk. :)

Thanks Mommas. Its good to know it will only be a flavor thing if anything. DD is 22months old and should be fine with the change in taste.
Besides I would much rather take garlick then spray bug spray arround. :shake:
