One cycle takes about 1/2 hour! And that is the eco cycle. Forget about the heavy wash, it will take all day just to wash the bedding:rolleyes: Good thing I had a clothesline put up. Wouldn't want to have to wait for the dryer, too:wah:

Do you notice your clothes get cleaner with the front loading? I'd trade your front loading machine for my 1980's top loading machine any day!!

It actually doesn't bother me at all since the washer and drier take the same amount of time. :) I can't switch the laundry until the drier is done anyway!

Oh how I'd love a front-loader! I have an 80's top loader that seems to keep on going

It doesn't clean any better. Of course our rusty hard water doesn't help:wah: I am hoping once this business loan is paid off, to get a water system. Our washing machine and tubs are turned orange from the hard water.

Now I'm not quite as excited for the duet washer and dryer I'm about to get (gotta love mil) Does it really take that much longer than a top loader? I do like 20 loads of laundry a week (on a good week) !!!

I have a Frigidaire model and Im really happy with mine. The cycles do take a little longer, but in the end, its worth it. Shorter drying time, less water usage, less soap needed, clothes not being beat up by the agitators and soaking in dirty water all = $$ savings.

I LOVE mine. Yes, I found drying time was improved, too. And the lack of agitator makes it easier on clothes, but best of all, it holds SO MUCH MORE that I'm doing way fewer loads of wash, so overall, the time savings is HUGE! :D

Allison, I have the Duet and it's not that bad. The casual and quick wash cycles both take 41 minutes. Quick wash cycled dry in 30 minutes to an hour, depending on how big the load is.

I really love ours. Our clothes are cleaner and the machines are much easier on them.

We're getting the Whirlpool Duet system and they both have great reviews on Epinions!
