View Full Version : Would a Didymos be super comfortable for hiking?
I have an ergo and I like it, but today on my hour and a half walk, my shoulders were definitely aching. I kept thinking that maybe one of those wrap slings would be more comfortable. Anybody?

Are you sure you had your waist strap tight enough? You should be carrying the bulk of the weight on your hips.
I wasn't a fan of the Didymos, especially for larger toddlers. I found it to be wayyyy too long for my body. It would either dangle off really long, being a tripping hazard, or I would wrap it around again, making it hot. It was also tough to get tied and kiddo in position comfortably.

I didn't like the didymos for larger toddlers either. I wore the baby bundler but it was too hot for hiking. I prefer the kelty backpack for hikes, although the baby trekker was okay for short hikes.

Backpack (a Kelty) worked way better than a Didymos for me. The Didymos pulled on my shoulders after about 45 minutes. This is with a 25+ lb baby. It was okay for shorter walks/hikes and when she was smaller.
we just got this:

and love it! It's very comfortable and easy to get for the $50 bid (of course, there's a $20 shipping charge, but that's still reasonable for a kid carrier). The seller is really great and so is the product...

I use an Asian Style Baby carrier for my toddler. I like it much better than my Ergo that just doesn't fit right.
