The theme this year is:
"A Day of Advocacy and Education for Women"
When: Sat. August 7th.
Where: South Bend Indiana, Century Center
Time: 10am-3pm Nursing Mom Headcount-12noon sharp!
This year we will be indoors, in our convention center, due to the tremendous turn out from last year! Of course we will have lots of pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding stuff and info. In addition, we will also be doing more with family planning, voters registration, domestic violence, Chemical Dependency, womens health issues etc. Much more inclusive of all women.....
This year we will also be holding educational talks throughout the day on a variety of topics, the convention center space that we reserved will have a main area for vendors etc, with additional rooms connected for the talks.
Talks will be throughout the day, on the 1/2 hour. We will have two areas for presentations. Topics to be discussed:
Breastfeeding Benefits and Basics
Working and Pumping- You can do it!
Benefits Beyond a Year.
Creating BF Friendly Communities.
Early Pregnancy and Childbirth Options.
Co-Sleeping- Safely! (woo HOO! The Director of the Mother Baby sleep lab here at Notre Dame run by Dr. James McKenna, will be our presenter!)
Women and Heart disease
Nutrition throughout a lifetime.
Family Planning Options.
Family Matters.
Men’s Health Issues and Updates.
Keeping Women Safe.
