This is a very intense movie about a young adolescent girl living in Taliban occupied Afghanistan. She must try to pass as a boy to make money for the family to eat! Ugh!

It is a really oppresive place (understatement!)

Rated PG-13

English subtitles.

I recommend it and recommend not watching it with any of your offspring.

Recommend it highly for those who are curious about the environment the people of Afghan were living in a very short time ago.

Watch the director's interview afterwards to get more info about the people and places shown!

I was wondering about this movie-it received great reviews! Thanks for letting us know that we shouldn't watch it in front of little ones. What about a 12 year old girl? Still too much?

I'll try to rent it this weekend.

Thanks mama!

Thanks for the rec! I'll add this one to my Netflix list.

After seeing it, I admit it would be highly educational but will not have them see it.

The opressive story was almost overwhelming for me (shook me a lot) and I don't want to put that on my kids shoulders.

I hope they see it someday though.
