Well thanks to those of you who had some input.

The day I talked to the kids about separating or being in the same class, Amanda had a bad dream and said Brandon was gone, he wasn't he was safe and sound in bed. I didn't think anything of it they have bad dreams from time to time, so I just thought it's just a dream.

Last night I was on the sofa watching TV and our bed room door opened and Amanda was there crying, I went over and she was crying "Brandon" I asked if brandon was okay and she said no and started crying. I ran into the bedroom and nudged Brandon and asked if he was okay and he slowly said "yes" and rolled over and went back to sleep. I sat on the bottom bunk with Amanda and Asked what happened and asked if she thought Brandon was hurt or sick or being mean. she said no, I asked if she had a bad dream and she said yes and after asking what happened in it a couple times she said Brandon was gone and she couldn't find him.

I showed her that brandon was safe in bed and put her back to bed. She went back to sleep.

I didn't tell Lee about the first dream because I thought it was just a dream and told him "...now she has had it twice and......" he cut in and said "it started when they found out about school and different classes"

So this is another arguement for us to have them in the same class.

Amanda, at least, is clearly not ready to be separated from her brother. Someday she will be, but not yet. I would insist that either the school place them in the same classroom--or else I simply wouldn't send them until the following year. Once they see you can't be pushed around, they'll back down--if not because they see how important this is to you, then for the increased funding two extra students would bring the school. ;)
