i have no problems with cosleeping with my 20 month old dd and my four year old dd but due to the size of our bed it isn't possible for my dh to get a good nights rest.he isn't to keen on the idea anyway but it feels so right to me.anyway i talked with my oldest dd about it a few different times and told her that most nights she could sleep in our bed but other times she would have to sleep in her own bed (which she did everynight since birth til age three and a half, until i started cosleeping with her sister due to nursing and the comfort it gave us) of course she wanted to be in bed with us too so i let her.anyway she now has alot of trouble sleepimg in her own bed which she never had issues with before.how do i help her transition again?like tonight we are both camping out in the living room (i am dreading the sore neck i'll likely have in the morning) but i can't do this everynight.do i have her sleep in her own bed all the time or do i sleep in her room for a little while,or what?i want to make this as easy on her as possible but i don't want the rest of us to lose sleep either.please help any way you can.i need some advice.thanks in advance,
missy

A couple of ideas.

You could start off sleeping with her and then go back to your own bed. But will she wake up again & come in or call out to you?

Or you could have a mattress on the floor where she starts with you & you climb up into the other bed or maybe she would be fine if she was just in the room in a bed of her own, just not alone in her own room.

We have a wall of beds!! Before our baby would sleep with us in our Queen bed. Then with twins we set up the crib as a side-car (aka: glorified bed rail as neither would go in the crib even thogh it had no side & was level with the bed mattress)...so we added a single bed pushed up against the Queen for DH!!
