Long story short...I need a crash course in gardening. I am someone who doesn't know a weed from a plant and I need to clean up and mulch our garden beds in the backyard...that haven't been touched in 2 years. Is Gardening 101 (the Martha Stewart Book) worth it? Any website or book recommendations?

The Patio Kitchen Garden is really good info and talks a lot about how to start... Sqare Foot Gardening is another... How to Grow Vegetables is a short one and contains about 50 of the top veggies, herbs, and fruits. Also good for learning about composting... Roots, Shoots, Buckets, and Boots I can not say enough good things about. My favorite starting gardening book to date! Looking up things on the internet and printing them out for reading is good too... if I run into something I have not heard of, I write it on my bookmark while I read and then come to the computer when I have the time and research it on Google (link) (http://www.google.com/). Most things you will find there and it is a great way to get more information without always being at the library. :)
