Post your progress here, and let us see the end result via pictures if you can. Sharing our space can be so inspiring to others, and often we think of easier ways to do things, or better orgnization from seeing other's decluttered spaces! I think I will start another post for that...
Last week was GREAT!

So far I've decluttered big time our bookshelf. Mostly dh's magazines. I put them in a box for him to go through.
Still working on the picture thing.
eta: I organized the bedroom closet today!!! Yeah. I'm not going to need additional shelving.
It looks soooo nice when you walk in. I'm taking a break from vaccuuming (sp) right now. Tomorrow I'm going to shampoo the carpets.
I also hung two pictures. They look nice. One is of my Dad and I. He died about 1 1/2 yrs ago.
eta Tues: Decluttered and cleaned master bath.
Scrubbed shower, toilet and surrounded areas
Cleaned inside and out the slider in our room that goes out to the backyard
Vacuumed again
Shampooed carpets
(I need a nap today.....let's hope Joshie works with me on this one. lol)

Great job Suzie! (I always had a hard time spelling vacuuming too... but then I learned it from my sons spelling list. Sad isn't it?? I am a hoplessly bad speller.)

My bedroom has THE MOST clutter of the entire house (other than the pantry).
I'm afraid to declutter it..........

(In calm tone just in case we have any sudden movements from a cluttered corner.) Missy; we are all here for you. We will help you through this. Just jump in somewhere. The only thing to fear is the mess itself. Tehehee...
I love you! :D

I have gone through my closet and need to work on dh's closet tomorrow.
I have already deep cleaned the room last week, so today, I changed the sheets and dusted.

Well, all I did today was change the sheets and hang up an outfit. I 've had a massive headache - I thought it was sinus, but my dr. (who finally called back) told me it was migraine - so I took meds and am slowly becoming normal again. Hopefully, tomorrow will be better.

Hope you are feeling better, Rivka.
I have done nothing, nothing! so far this week. In fact I am trying to finish up the kids' room, and that's my goal for today -- to catch up on putting laundry away in there, change the sheets, and do a little fine-tuning of the toy organization.
This is the very busy part of my week, though. Thursday-Sunday is likely when I'll get to the master bedroom.
But your progress is inspiring!!!
Oh! It wasn't in either of the assigned rooms, but I cleared off my desk on Sunday, and made up a big binder with Jake's developmental (not CF, LOL, that's a whole other binder!) information and records in it. I feel so much better!

I took the curtains down yesterday and washed them. Changed all the bedding. (Didn't get a lot done in the MB, but I got an area all set up for my sewing in the LR which was one of my goals for the month. Can't wait to get to actually use it. :D )
Today I went through our closet and have two bags of stuff to take to the thrift shop.
I also filled a box with decorative stuff that was sitting around gathering dust. I decided we just don't need it.
Later I hope to get through the dresser and maybe dust. We'll see if dd will let me. She's been very clingy the last few days, but she is getting her first tooth so I think that's why.
ETA - Got through the dresser and dusted everything. Tomorrow I will vacuum, put away the last basket of clothing and rearrange a little. Yay!!! Amost done. (Our bedroom really wasn't bad to start with, now if we get to the den/family room I will really be in for it...yikes!!!)

thank you for your kind words; migraines are awful. I have a very difficult time shaking them.
In the meantime, I have not gotten any work done on my bedroom - I think that I am a wash on this one. Thursday and Friday are my busy days in the house as I try to prepare for our Sabbath. My dh had told me that he would work on his half - and I guess I'm just waiting so that I will feel that it will be worth it to do mine. It is possible that if the Housing Department of Chicago were to see his side of the room - it would be condemned. Okay, actually, it's not quite that bad right now - he did do a little work.
Guess I have to stop being so lazy.

is it thursday already?
I've fallen off the declutter wagon! DH went back to work today (yeah!), but I had planned to work in the mb today. How do you do it with kids around? I can't leave my older two downstairs for more than five minutes and the baby sleeps in our room, so if I want to work in there, I have to do it when he is awake, and then he tries to *help*. Ugh, and tonight, when dh is home, I have to work at the church office on Sunday's program.
It may be a all-day Saturday thing.

Well I have cleaned out my closet and I have to go through dh's one more time.
I still need to go through our dressers and straighten up refold our clothes in there and see if we can get rid of any of those.
I will try to post pictures tonight or tomorrow.

I went through my dresser and cleaned it all out. I also organized the closet. I still need to clean out underneath the bed and organize the giant stack of papers I have. Oh, and I need to dust.

WTG!!!
I'm having issues with under the bed. I'd love to have it completely cleared out and nothing underneath.
Anyone have nothing under their beds?

Well, my bedroom is clean now, but dh's side is still cluttered. I can't get rid of his 'stuff' because I know he'd have a cow if I did it. My side and dresser look okay. For what it's worth, I did just do a major decluttering in there about a couple of months ago. So, my drawers are neat and done, my closet too.

I have nothing under our king-sized bed. Absolutely nothing.
We used to have our mattress on the floor, and we got a frame so we could keep dust away. We ripped up carpet and put flooring in. I love the way it looks -- clean and sparse. I just have to get attack the clutter on the *sides* of the bed and the other side of the room -- the actual bed is very clean.
Pic of my room with just the bed in it, before adding back everything else, LOL:

Lauren, you rock!!!;cool:
That is so my goal!!! I was shopping for new bedding today. I'm going to take dh with me next Thurs on his day off to check them out.
I really like one with embroidered flowers on it but the doggie sleeps with us, so for now that's out. I think if I got some new bedding I would be more inclided to clean under it. Maybe not. lol

The only thing under our king-size bed is an emergency rescue ladder thing in case of fire (2-story house...it's a long way down). Oh and occassionally a cat!
I don't know why I don't store anything under there - when I was a kid I know I shoved everything under the bed. In college though I just had a mattress on the floor - maybe that broke my habit.
My decluttering goal is to have nothing in storage except for what will fit in a little raised corner of our basement.

The only thing I store under there is our out of season clothes. Somehow, junk just appears there! Half of the kids toys end up under the bed, along with the dust bunnies, books, papers...the list goes on and on. I want a bed that sits directly on the floor with no room for stuff to accumulate, lol!

It's amazing the stuff we find under our beds too! I only purposely keep the cradle there (no room anyplace else), but all sorts of things migrate underneath my bed. Under my kids' beds too- all sorts of little toys, odd socks, etc.

WAY TO GO EVERYONE! I am inspired... I need to really get on it!

PS Lauren I love the tapestry you have on your bed... we have a top sheet we are useing as a bed cover... it works, but matches the bottom sheet we use and so it all looks too well matched... you know? But I love yours!

I currently have some of the larger things Josh has outgrown stored under our bed but they are all things that are going to the church so once I get the storage boxes for the church it will all be gone. Hopefully this next week.

I finally finished the toys from last week too. I have done the master bedroom/bathroom, the front bathroom and the hall. They are spring cleaned, neat etc... I need to drop off the declutter stuff and thats about it.
Now I just need to get to the kids rooms. LOL They are actually looking forward to it.

Way to go, everyone!
I finally did something too...organized the videos in the closet. We're going to the beach, but when we come back, I am going to finish putting away the laundry, straighten the master bedroom closet, and maybe even declutter and dust off the dressers. Then I will feel like I've at least gotten something done!

finally!!!
Our bedroom is not very big so our king-size bed pretty much IS our bedroom. Here's an after pic:
