HERE IT IS
(http://www.amitymama.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=163931)
I am all ready... what do you guys think... a week? Three days? What will it take you to get this room done? I am up for either, becuase I will do the kids bedroom at the same time since I concentrated on the play room this week. So just let me know and I will set it up! This is turning out to be a lot of fun! I love hearing about how productive everyone is... that really has kept me motivated. You guys are just great!

A week is good w/me, but I'll hustle if everyone outvotes me. With school for 18 hrs a week, and still chugging along full-speed getting school and therapies in place for Jacob, I'm one busy mama. In fact, I still have to finish the kids' room/playroom, and I have to file the taxes (that's tonight, mama got a night off from dh & kids just for that purpose!).
I'm loving this, though. It's VERY motivating. Yeah!

I say definitely a week! With three toddlers at home, cleaning time isn't much!

I actually need to concentrate on my "guest" bedrrom, and I'll definitely need a week, as I am also still trying to finish up the paint in my kitchen.

:jump: I'll need a week. I'll have two days where Joshie is in preschool. This will be an awesome time to work uninterrupted.
I also need to finish painting Joshie's room. It should only take me about an hour. I just wanted to wait until it warmed up again to be able to air out the fumes. We painted his room big-bird yellow. You can't help but smile when you walk in there.

you know, I didn't even see this thread and I just spent the whole day doing this. I threw away 5 bags of trash and put 3 boxes together for Goodwill. YAY me :D
My room is so purty when it's clean and oganized LOL.

I'd like to join in, and I'd need a week, too. We just moved Feb 1, and I still have a half dozen boxes piled in the mb, including three just of bathroom stuff (is it okay to put the master bath with the master bdrm?) I've got a cabinet to put the stuff in, it just needs to be assembled and then the stuff sorted -- most will be thrown out, I think.
I'm really looking forward to this!

Rebecka, Whatever you need to add is fine.. just keep us updated... we are here to motivate not moderate! lol... (not laughing at you, just laughing cus I am being a little "punny". Tehehe...)
I would love to see pictures of the clean bedrooms too. Please post... those are where I get my ideas... anyone else?
I am excited too, this really worked to motivate me last week and I would love to get all the way through the house with this!
You guys are so great!

I'm game to give it a try. I did just join flylady - I don't know what her plan is for this week...I've been after dh to do his half of the room. Maybe this will be the final push! (I'd do pictures, but I don't have a digital camera)

Here is a great list for cleaning/decluttering the mb that I found on The Organizer Home.

I just printed this one and the one for the master bath to give me a guide for this week.

I'm going to join you all, if you don't mind! I don't think I've ever posted on this board, but I sure could use some motivation to declutter. At our house, all the clutter ends up in the master bedroom!

Wow thanks for posting that link :) I still haven't done the kids play room but I did order some stuff I need for organizing the felts, and thats a step
I really like having a clean MB to go to sleep in at night and dh LOVES it so this is a good project for me to take on.
Val I'll try and do some pics, but I'll just be happy if I do it in the first place
Thanks for the motivations mamas,
Sarah

Ok, I'm ready. (imagine the Rocky theme playing in the background)
I'm going to try decluttering dh's side of the closet today before buying any shelves or stuff like that. I think it can be done if I can get rid of some of his stuff.
Well, I'm not getting rid of it. I'm going to put a lot of it into storage containers and rotate them. This man has about 50
t-shirts. And about 30 pairs of shoes.
If I wasn't so lame, I'd post pics. I just can't figure that one out. I'd love to have a pic of my boys in my siggy line. Anyone want to help me out? (Val: hint, hint)

Sure Suzie... when you reply look down underneith the the reply box where is says Automatically Parse URL's, Email Notification, Diable Smiles (as if anyone really wants to do that), Show Signature, and then a blank box with "Browse" in it. This is how you upload pictures. You click that, and then you can look through your computer, and pick the pictures that you want to post. I always right click when I am in the selection box for my own pictures and select "Large Icons" or "Thumbnails" because then I see a small version of my picture as I select it to put in this post.
Good Luck! I want to see pictures!

PS Look! These are red sunflowers in my garden!

Well, I got started, but it is going to be a looooong week! Dd is just *too* helpful, and it will only get worse. But the first 5 feet of the room are now clear, and when dh gets home from work tonight I'll make him lug some stuff to the basement and out to the trash.
I am still too embarrassed by the room to take a "before" picture, though.

thanks val, but everytime I try to upload a pic it says it's too big.
Now, I've seen some pretty big pics. What am I doing wrong?

I'm gonna join in on this too. I missed last week, but I don't think I would have been able to tackle the kids room last week anyway (my niece was here a couple of weeks ago and let's just say that anything that was on a shelf or in a bin is now on the floor).
This looks like great motivation and support. I really need to get through everything in the house over the next month or two. We are having a garage sale in July, but mostly I need to make the house child-friendly (dd is starting to push up on her hands and she'll be crawling before we know it).
Off to the master bedroom....

Oh and for Suzie (Sunbeam) go to edit profile and in your signature type **enter web address of picture here**
I believe you need to put the picture up on a photo hosting site though first like photobucket.com or something similar. I use photobucket (it's free) and they have it all layed out for you so you can just cut and paste the img file.
Does that make sense?

Wow it has been busy. Here's what I got done on master bathrom/bedroom:
vacumed ceilings, walls and floors
washed walls
cleaned baseboards, window sills, wood trim and doors
washed inside of windows and mirrors
washed curtains, ironed and rehung
dusted
polished furniture w/ furniture cream
mopped the bathroom floor
cleaned bathroom
emptie out drawers in both rooms and vacummed out
My dh is at the laundry now washing the pillows and bedspread (with all 6 younger kids LOL) and when he gets home, I'll get him to help me flip the mattress and remake it as well as my 4 yr. olds trundle bed. Whew, I've been having contractions all afternoon, so I'm going to bed right after that. ;)
Tomorrow I plan to hang out all the organic bedding and sheepskin for this new baby to air out and then finish up decluttering, plus taking the kids to the dentist. Wish me luck!!!
I also payed my BIL to come over today and do a ton of small things my dh just hasn't gotten to, as well as patch all the nail/screw and other holes that we have managed to get in the sheetrock. Can I just say it's been a great day! LOL
