A really intense, beautifully planned movie.
The story is riveting and suspenseful, sorrowful (scenes of horrible accident recalled by a character), moving.
Mel Gibson stars in it as a reverand who quit after questioning his faith in something bigger than us all. Joaquin Phoenix is his brother who lives with him. A couple of adorable kids doing big time acting.
Although it is rated PG-13.......my 13 yr old would be overwhelmed by a lot of it.
I watched it with just my dh in a pitch black room (door closed so kids wouldn't come it AND to make it more theatre like in experience)
I recommend it if you want to forget your own existence for a tiny bit of time. :cool:
