We're always in the process of getting rid of stuff.
I have been a shamefless overconsumer, but I salved my conscience by saying I only did it at Goodwill...but overconsumption is overconsumption...so we are getting rid of all that crap I bought for $1 and $2 here and there.
I should have just bought a Kitchenaid Stand Mixer like I wanted...instead of all this piddly crap that will surely add up to more than the cost of the one thing...but I digress.

When I was going through the folder of papers from Eli's birth, I found the little card they put on the end of his bassinet - with my name and his weight, etc. I never really looked at it before that closely...or at least I never noticed but there is A BABY RABBIT BEING BOTTLE-FED ON THE OTHER SIDE! Endorsed by the Frank Warne Company - the Peter Rabbit people...What would Beatrix say, eh?
ARGH!

Now, no one get offended. I understand that people bottlefeed out of necessity, etc...and I'm not standing in judgement of anyone for their choices...except the freakin' hospital! Who took these **** cards from Mead-Johnson and put their freakin' advertisement in my baby's crib.
Bastards! Bastards! Bastards!
BASTARDS, I say!

Luckily, my son saw it and said, "That's stupid, Mama. No rabbit would feed a baby from a bottle. Where would a rabbit get a bottle anyway?" So, he's a little deconstructer.
But ****it! I'm mad, mad, mad about this! Talk about undermining breastfeeding! I only wish I had noticed it before FOUR and a HALF years ago, so I could have complained then.

Jennifer.

Way to go kiddo!

The only thing so far making me mad is candy wrappers I am finding all over.

Smart boy!

Right now, I'm disgusted that I'm pitching 4 garbage bags of GARBAGE from the kitchen declutter. Old food packaging mostly. I really wish flour, grains and dry goods still came in sacks.

Slightly OT from Decluttering, but I had to comment about the card. The ID card that was on DS's bassinet at the hospital says "I'm a breastfed boy!" across the top with a beautiful hand-drawn picture of a mama nursing her baby. I assume they had ones for bottlefed babies, too. I think it was the hospital nursery's way of knowing which babies they were allowed to bottlefeed in the nursery.

I love that card:heart:

You know what makes me mad?

The unused gifts. Someone else would LOVE to have that stuff new, and I just left it sitting someplace. Anybody need girl clothes? lol.

On a happier note, I found where I stashed the only existing picture of my great-grandmother, and I put together a big pile of photos to send my cousin and his new wife. :-)

Yes, I find things that make me angry while decluttering. I get especially frustrated with the nick-nack clutter stuff that my family gives as 'gifts'. No matter how many times I tell them, "Don't give us things that are breakable." they still do. ARGH, getting mad just thinking about it.

i finally stopped getting that stuff for the most part. It took about a year of me mentioning avvery few weeks, :I hate getting knick knacks that I have to dust. They just cause more work," (this one worked well with my mil, who thinks I am a lousy housekeeper) and I just don't have enough high places for all the fragile stuff I just have to pack it away to keep the baby safe." It took a lot of work, but I finally got the message across.

As far as anger, I dont' get that too much, except I am constantly asking myself, "why on earth didn't you just walk this to the garbage can months ago? It was garbage then, but instead you just set it down hoping the sanitary fairy would take care of it."

LOL! We are decluttering big time. Marking everythin for a yardsale. The Lennox figurines that my grandma thins I like, the jacket that was a man's jacket but bought for me, the coffee table that just collects clutter, all the lighthouse stuff people keep giving us (we live in a 950 sq. ft place; I casually mention that we may decorate with lighthouse stuff; next thing I know, my house has been decorated with lighthouse stuff and everyone is giving it to us!!) including a Thmas Kinkade throw (keeping the kincaide picture in our bedroom though, speakers, stereo, the older tv (keeping the other one for videos and an occasional movie; yeah right!), school books that my mom thinks I want (thats one for the steam room!)

Growl! And why didn't I throw away all those catalogues weeks ago? Not like there is a "recyclable fairy that would take care of it." ;)

I get mad about the stuff that people have given me that I never wanted but feel obligated to keep.

I found a $50 refund check we never cashed about 3 weeks after it expired. Oh well. It still irks me though.

Those tags on the baby beds irk me too. The gave out diaper bags with that on them when Beth was born. I left it sitting on the hospital bed.

You mean, like, another woman's underwear? :muahaha:

Yes. I get mad when I find the useless junk that my MIL sends home with my dh (who ought to know better after FIVE years--don't be bringing useless sh!t into my house, sucka!). She declutters her house and sends boxes of her cast offs home to me. WTF? Have a garage sale!

Other than that, specific items don't make me mad. Rather, I feel pissed off and smothered by the sheer quantities of crap that we accumulate

In that case I hope JenniferC's babe wasn't "accidentally" bottlefed at the hospital.

Hi BTW...I'm Jessica. This is my forst post but I'm on my way to the intro forum...

The only thing that makes me mad is when I find gifts I have bought and forgotten, then find them AFTER the holiday!
