I've noticed some slack in my supply lately, when I pump at work (ds is 8 mos old) - anyone btdt? There's been nothing dramatically different with bf'ing at home (maybe a little more frequent at night) and I'm still drinking my Mother's Milk tea...

Thanks!

FME with pumping- the older the baby gets, the harder it becomes to pump the same amount as when they are younger. I don't know why though....But I definitly noticed a slow decrease in the amount I could pump as Lea got older.

he did last night?... Tried to pull himself upward on a wooden box we have CDs in. We're going to be in so much trouble once he figures that out - he's already fascinated with Bryan's records.

Your little guy changes with every pic - dang, they grow fast!

I was afraid that was the case - and just when I was pretty proud of myself for getting two full bottles...

Yup, it's common as babe gets older for supply to dwindle pumping a bit, but don't despair! Eat a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast every day, this usually gets my pumping moms the supply boost they need to get back to regular production ;)

that's good advice. It's just that it took me so long to get the hang of it, I wouldn't want it to be so shortlived.

I went back to work when my babe was 13 months (she's 21 months now). The first day I got nearly 16 ounces and it went downhill very fast. I finally gave up because even with all the right herbs, two cups oatmeal a day, lots of fluids, and three solid pumping sessions, I was (eventually) only getting 3 ounces a day. So, I hung up my horns.

We're still nursing when we are together and I know she's getting next to nothing when she nurses during the day time.

I was bummed, but I was less bummed by quitting than being frustrated putting in over an hour a day to get 3 ounces on a good day.

I wish I had better advice or suggestions. BTDT and gave up.

ok, i am in the minority here, but 4 oz was major when i went back to work when dd was 8 weeks. 2 full bottles is amazing! i go back part tie on the 19th and iris will be almost 9 weeks. i do come home and nurse though.
