Sometimes when I come here, it says I have a new PM (woohoo! You know, makes me feel special .. lol anyways). Then I go to check it, and there's nothing there. I hit refresh, and sometimes there is a new message there. Other times, it's not. Like right now, each time I come to the market board through my favourite's, it says I have a PM. But I don't. Or do I? lol

Anyone else have this happening?

I have had this happen many times, and this was the solution (for me anyway)

I have signed up for the email notification when I get a pm. A lot of times, I get an email saying I have the PM, so I go and check it immediately...before I get my pop up window saying I have a PM...then the next time I go to a new forum I get the pop up saying I have one...but I don't anymore.

However, this has only happened to me when I am replying to a post or reading a post (and therefore had not yet gone back to a refreshed forum page)

Hmm, so you mean you check for PM's through your e-mail notifications now? *scratching head* sorry if I didn't quite follow that.

It just gets a little annoying because each time I return to a main page (here or the sewing board), it will pop up, regardless of if I refresh or check PMs and refresh again...

I dunno. It's not that huge a deal, but I guess I'm not alone on this one. *shrugs* Oh well :)

I have my email box open all the time, and when I get a new email I get a pop up...so I see that I have a PM notification email and go directly to my control panel to check it(or click on the link in the email)....without having gone to a main page first.
then when I go back to a main page, I get the pop up saying I have a pm...even though I have already checked it.

Does that make more sense?

If you're coming in through a "favorites", you may have *saved* that favorite when you *did* have a new PM... which means that it'll keep saying you have one every time you refresh that URL.

My suggestion... read all your PMs. then go to http://www.amitymama.com/vb/index.php
then save *that* URL as a favorite (or if you prefer, go to the marketplace forum first, and save *that* as a favorite).
