Every new season we see a few bugs in the house.
This is the season for these gentle black ants. So I made a pennyroyal spray with soap, water and pennyroyal oil and cleaned the cupboards and then sprayed int he cracks as well.
Many bugs (and mice too) dislike mint fragrances and pennyroyal is well known for repeling insects.
I gahtered as many ants as I could and took them outside-told them not to come into the house anymore-and I hope htey find a new home.

Aaaahhh-I finally accomplished something I was procrastinating.

I use peppermint EO or spearmint EO and water in a spray bottle and use it for anything from freshening up a room, to spraying around the window sills and doorways to keep ants away. :)

You can also plant any kind of mint around the foundation of your home to help keeps the bug wuggies at bay.

I have heard of that and want to try the mint plants around the house. Especially if we move to the farmhouse.

I hope to have my kitchen fully cleaned and stuff cleared out by the end of this week <wishful thinking, but it is a goal>

I do not have any pennyroyal oil but I am sure there are other essential oils, that bugs hate, that I have available. I tend to have essential oils on hand that are safe to use on the skin.
