DS loves our neighbors plants and runs to them every time we leave. This week, we planted some herbs, strawberries, pansies, and tomatoes in containers on the porch. The area gets good light and so far everything looks good. Any suggestions on what will do well in containers? I really want to plant things we will use and I'd love to plant more veggies especially. Also, any suggestions on gardening with kids?

TIA
Kristi

The book Roots, Shoots, Buckets, and Boots is ALL about gardening with kids, and tons of it is about container gardening. If I were you, (and I didn't own the book) I would put it on hold in the library today. That one and Container Gardening with Kids.

Each give a list of the best plants for kids... Roots and Shoots talks about planting in crazy ways and crazy places for/with your children. We are doing the Moon Garden, and then my parents are doing the Pizza Garden this year for my kids. I will post pictures when we get started. There are so many great ideas in that book that I bought it after I borrowed it. I want to have it every year for their good ideas!
