We have Sprint DSL in Pennsylvania. It's bundled with our local service and long distance for one monthly fee, but I think it's about $25-30 a month.
You generally have two options for really high speed access, cable or DSL.
If you have cable TV, call your cable company and ask them how much they charge for cable internet - you may also need a cable modem and have installation fees. Sometimes a 1 year contract.
Same type of thing for DSL but it's through your phone company instead.
You could try looking your yellow pages under "Internet" and seeing which companies advertise high speed access. I did that when we first moved. :)
Let's see... that's all I can think of at the moment...
We have Road Runner and I love it, it is quite pricey though , over $40 a month

We have Comcast High Speed, switched from Verizon DSL over the summer. We pay about $40/month for the cable, but it actually works out the be about the same as we were paying with Verizon because we had to buy their "valur package" to get the DSL for 29.95. Their value package had all these things we don't use like voice mail (that was $10 to set up, even though we never used it b/c we have an answering machine) and like $3 extra per month just because (?). I like the cable, I think it's faster than DSL. In a few days we are getting our phone service through Comcast for $5 cheaper then Verizon. No More Verizon!! (Plus we'll get all teh Showtimes free for 6 months and then for only $5 after that). Wow, lots more info than you needed, I'm sure, lol!

I'm in Illinois & we have Insight Cable. I only got it because my boss pays for it, but I cannot live without it now. Ours is pricey, at $44.95 per month, but it is soooo much easier to surf the web (and see pictures here, lol) with cable.

We're in AZ and our internet is through our cable company, Cox. It's $39.95/mo which is pretty pricey, but the company I work for pays for it.
The phone co. is offering DSL for $26.95/mo but it's through MSN so I don't think we'd ever switch over.

We have DSL through MSN....it goes through our phone company as well and I only pay $29 a month for it...you can get it as low as $26 depending on what your phone plan is.
Anyway, MSN is great! Much better than our old service. I never get bumped off or having any troubles with it.

We have MSN through Qwest dsl. We used to have comcast cable until we moved and it's not available in our new development. We pay (reimbursed through dh's company) $39. I hate it! We are in the northern suburbs of the Twin Cities. We've had service since Nov. and have been through 3 different dsl modems since the others have failed and the MSN goes down about once a week. I can't wait till cable is in our neighborhood. Our cable was much faster than our dsl.

we have DSL, $29 a month, and it's heavenly. always connected and even on my ancient computer it's still lightning fast, love love love it. It's MSN through Qwest also, and we get a deal because we have home phone and cell phone with them.
But we are the opposite, we had cable and it was soooo slow sometimes, and i would have to restart the cable modem like once a week...ugh, didn't like it. But i think it's different depending on your area

Well, sorry to dissapoint you by saying that, but netzero does not qualify as "true" high-speed internet. They use "high-speed" as a marketing technique, but it is still plain ol' dial-up with some tweaking on their part (caching maybe?) to make the experience slightly faster (and to be able to put that "high-speed" in the advertising). If you read carefully, you will see that they claim that their service will be up to 5x faster loading some (ie. most commonly accessed by all their users) sites only. So, it's all just BS marketing.
I have comcast cable internet right now, but I was somewhat happier with optimum online (cablevision cable internet). Still can't compare with dial-up, though ;) and not even residential dsl. I just can't stand dial-up anymore.

We had Bellsouth DSL a couple of years ago and loved it, but it was $40/month. Now we have Cox Cable through LSU, because my husband is a grad student and we have it for $25/month. I like Cox too, however, they need to get a grip on their SPAM (Bellsouth had great SPAM blockers). Oh, we are in Baton Rouge, LA. :D
