I saw master and commander and am wondering why all the hoopla at the BAFTA's?

Did not like Charlize Theron's dress. At all. Or Jada Pinkett's--bleah. Samantha Morton's was nice, but she didn't have the bosoms to fill that thing out. Jamie Lee Curtis looked nice, I think.

Billy Crystal wasn't as funny as he has been in previous years, but it was nice to have him back.

Now I have to see The Triplets of Belleville.

I, silly me, didn't really like any of the dresses. All those strapless gowns reminded me of the 1960's and I would like to see some straps :p

I am trying to rent a bunch of movies to view which were up for various awards (Lost in Translation and Pirates of the Carribean and on and on)

Yay for Sean Penn though. Mystic River looks intense (gotta see it)

i love watching the oscars each year...brings me close to my roots since i am so removed here in pa. ~lol!!!~

i liked julia robert's dress the best i think, she was just glowing!! samantha morton's i liked as well.

i was glad LOTR rings swept up ~ wtg!!

and i have been a sean penn fan since his "Bad Boys" days...lol, have you seen that one? SO glad he won!!

and yes, ita The Triplets of Belleville is on my to see list as well!

yea ~ she does. i *want* to like her as an actor...lol, but it is hard b/c she always seems the same to me - kinda like winona ryder.

i did however like Mona Lisa Smile :D - but mostly the performances by the other leads.
