I made a lot of 3 felt balls, and am considering selling them in different colors as well. These 3 are a trial run for ebay (or here) and I'd like to see what prices everyone can suggest. I have no idea what to list them at.

Help Please!!!!

They are about 6-7 inches across. They are hand-made (by me) of felt, and are stuffed with wool. (others may be wool stuffed, or cotton. depending on if I get a reliable source of wool stuffing as I can't find it at the fabric store)

suggestions on pricing pleasse!!!

Don't feel bad if you'd like to leave some criticism too. I plan on making this a side income (with other products too, but this is my pilot product) so I may not have to work so much in the future. So all input is welcome. positive and negative.

But don't forget to suggest a price!! (did I beat that one to death or what? :D)

IN FACT, it'd be most useful for me, if y'all could suggest a price for a lot of 3 like this, and a price for single balls. I really am at a loss on how much to charge.

Those are so cute! Great job!

I don't know what to suggest in terms of cost. You might want to post in the crafting forum to see what they think. There are a few experienced toy crafters there who would be able to help. (they also can point you in the right direction for wool stuffing sources) Kind of a rule of thumb when deciding price for things that I go by is this: cost of materials + cost of your time. If it takes you an hour to make them then charge what you believe your time is worth per hour. I usually go with about $10 an hour on average for basic skills and increase with difficulty.

One thing I might suggest for the design is to use a wool felt instead of a craft felt. If you are going to go to the trouble of using wool stuffing you would probably want to use a wool felt to be consistent. 100% wool felt is prohibitively expensive but the blended wools that you can buy at most fabric stores is very nice.

For non wool material for those who are vegan or don't want wool for any reason, you could use a cotton stuffing and maybe a cotton velour for the outside. That would be yummy!

HTH! They are beautiful and I am sure people will love them!

I posted them on ebay using the formula suggested by a few mamas (materials +time) and came up with 9.00, then just upped it to 10 to see if it'll fly. I'm not sure they will at that price, but I hope so. :)

I figure when I make a few more, they'll be better quality, better materials and I won't take as long, so the cost will be a little lower (unless they sell well at 10$ - heck, i'll keep them there!) and they'll be better quality.

anyone want to see my auctions? here they are (http://cgi6.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewSellersOtherItems&userid=debandian2004&include=0&since=-1&sort=3&rows=50)

if you have any suggestions on how I may change the wording, or whatever, feel free to reply.

Thanks for contributing your thoughts. :)
