fairy eggs. :)
On Easter morning we take a walk outside and have found fairy eggs in our yard. On rainy Easters they appear in the Easter basket.
The kids think they are the coolest, most magical things. Somehow the fairies put little gifts (in a bed of confetti) inside of real eggs. The outside of the egg is covered in glued pieces of tissue paper and sprinkles with extra fine glitter. We haven't figured out how the fairies get candy and treasures inside real eggs though. We have to smash them to get at the treats.
here's pics from 4yrs ago...lol now they get smashed so fast there's no time for pics. :)

How neat! I have never had faires come to my house and I wish they would. We really didn't want the Easter Bunny coming, but Faries I could handle.
We don't have any Easter/Spring traditions as of yet. My twin boys will be two next month so before now they have really been too young to do anything.
I am going to start the tradition of sewing them something new to wear. I always got a new Mommy made dress on Easter.
So, I am looking forward to others ideas.

I think I know, but maybe we could work on talking the fairies into a visit next time we get together? Or would, ahem, that be too obvious to the kiddos. Not sure how we'd do that without spilling the fairies' secret, IYKWIM.

We don't celebrate Easter- we follow Native American traditions, but we do celebrate Equniox's and Solstace- so I was thinking of having a Spring Equinox basket or something like that!

Danielle, can you have the fairies PM me too?
Danielle, Can the fairies please pm me? Sage is obsessed with fairy gifts, they are better than any other gift!
Yeah, yeah. Send the fairies here too!
I saw some kids with something similar last year on Easter. THey were bigger kids and found great joy in SMASHING the eggs. IT was a bit of a confetti mess (at a public park). Still, I'm quite interested. And, it means I don't need to dig out the plastic eggs!

So, what kinds of things have they left in the eggs?
Dannielle

The fairies have left eggs filled with things such as small cars, wrapped candy, money (coins), jewelry, erasers, bendy fairies, polished rocks/gemstones, a chinese jumprope, dollhouse minatures, bendy fairy babies

Our fairies are going to leave wool beads and a string for Winnie to make a necklace. They'll probably leave one for Finn too ;). I'd also like to make some tiny babies out of wool felt or whatever for the fairies to leave. I'm still thinking ;).

We build houses for the fairies in our yard every once and a while and they always leave us a thank you crystal or what-not. But fairy eggs - I need to know too!! Please have them pm me too - if they brought eggs to our house this year - my ds' would be tickled :D
PS - back to our fav Easter tradition, I'd say around our house it is decorating Easter candles and making our egg tree (tying blown, decorated eggs to branches stuck in a flower pot) are our favorite traditions. Also, we have found over the years that inviting over friends who don't have kids and haven't decorated eggs since they were kids is always fun. They always start our sorta stiff and unconfortable and then before you know it they are the ones who are going out to get more eggs to blow and decorate! The egg tree makes a wonderful centerpiece on the dining table or the focal point of the nature table. (I probably have some pictures of last years on the pc somewhere, I'll have to look.) Also, the fairies always add a few more decorations to the Easter tree when they stop by. Just be prepared to each alot of quiche and scrambled eggs (more reasons to invite friends over - to eat all the eggs!).

Depending on weather or not they have alters or nature tables themselves I would say that they could have little bendy dolls, crystals, barbie shoes, seeds, tiny candies... the list is pretty endless. :D
