I went through some of my belongings today and have two large trash bags full of stuff and a box of books and a large bag of handmade items that I have yet to sell. I will be dropping this off tomorrow at the shop for our mothers support network for their book faire and shop. Too much for me to sell this stuff online right now plus they benefit from the stuff.

It's been so long since I have done this.. maybe at least 3 or 4 months it is quite amazing how quickly things accumulate.

Anyone else Decluttering? How much stuff did you get rid of?

I have taken three medium size trash bags full of clothes and stuffed animals to the goodwill, plus the box that our 19 inch TV came in full of toys. Not to mention the extra box of trash I put out by the road.

We still have to clean up the backyard and get rid of some things and all the dead leaves and branches that never got taken care of in the fall.

I have just finished up chemotherapy treatments that would put me in the hospital for five days every 4 to 6 weeks for the last six months- did I word that right? Since August of 2003 we have had our lives disrupted by cancer.

I am cancer free now. I feel so much better and now I am cleaning like crazy. I even dusted floor boards the other day....

Tawnya, glad to hear you are cancer free now!!!

I am decluttering as fast as I can. We have our 4th baby due in 9 weeks and I have been sick with n/v for most of this pregnancy, the house went to pieces while I was sick. DH is nesting, he has remodeled our upstairs bathroom, now he is on to the kitchen and my house is an utter mess. I am decluttering because I feel like I have to do something to get organized again.

In the last week we have taken 8 trash bags full of kids clothes to the neighborhood center 4 huge boxes of toys to the neighborhood center and 3 trash bags full of old towels, sheets, pillows and mattress covers to the humane society. I am still at it. I just bagged up 2 large trash bags full of my clothes that I don't want anymore, I told DH after this baby is born I am going to buy all new clothes for myself and he agreed that it had been a LONG time since I have had anything new for me.

I hope to keep the momentum going and get totally clutter free by the baby's due date! Wish me luck!

Good luck Dawn in getting it done before the baby. There won't be time after the baby comes....

Doesn't it feel so good to get things cleaned and organized. It makes you feel good inside. Today we re-arranged the front room and did some good cleaning (ie sweeping, throwing out papers, dusting, etc.) and now it feels so nice to sit and relax in a clean house....

and in clearing out the old. I still have a ways to go but it sure made me feel good to get rid of the things that I did.
