I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions about where to order herb plants online?
There are a few varieties of herbs I would like to grow this spring, but I would rather start from a plant and I can not purchase them locally.
Any tried and true companies?

Also, does anyone know where I can purchase borage seeds?
I can not find them locally.

Thank you!

Hope

Well, I found borage seeds here:
http://www.mountainroseherbs.com
I have ordered from them before with no problems.

I see places online to order from for the plants, but just wanted somewhere someone had good experiences with.

This place has TONS of amazing herbs that you can't find almost anywhere else. It even has ginko biloba trees. I got one :)

I shall bring a little piece of heaven to Georgia...

I love Nichols Garden Nursery. They are just an hours drive from us and they have the nicest little place. Around mothers day they hold the best customer appreciation day. Last year they had samples of herbal foods - my kids were going nuts over the lavender and crystal giner ice cream! yummy! They are really nice people and will tell you anything you need to know about growing from seed or start.

I just learned today that our HFS co-op is going to be selling og seeds in their produce section this year too so I am going to buy some there as well. I know - not an online source. Just had to add it in because I am really excited about our garden this year. :p

What are you looking for? Every inch of my greenhouse is packed with flats of starts...including tons of herbs. I could send you a few plants once they are big enough to mail. it would be a few weeks yet, maybe 2-3 months for them to be really established and transplanted at least once (makes them much stronger.)
Anyhow, let me know what you are looking for and I'll hook you up :)

For herbs (if you are going to grow herbs) I would use horizonherbs.com

Richo and his family are actually herbalists-they sell to herbpharm which grow and use those plants for their own tinctures and herbal medicines. Richo is also an author-a pretty good one at that.
And he is not bad lookin either *lol*

Seriously though, a commited family business always attracts me.
Check them out :)

hope--

there is a great place in north carolina, but the name is escaping me right now. sandy marsh? something like that. shipping to you will be cheapest from there.

but, i've got a really big herb garden and will be happy to send you cuttings of anything you want. just pm me with your address and what you're after. i'll wrap them really good for you.

also, let me know ifi you find borage seeds. mine self seeded and came back for years, but last year, it was totally absent, and it's a beautiful plant! i need to plant some this year.
