Annabelle has been sick since Wednesday with vomiting and diarrhea. She had a break on Friday but it's started up again on Saturday. I'm sick too, about a day behind her.

I'm hoping you crunchy people have some advice to get over this. We're on a steady diet of soda, saltines and not much else since those things aren't so bad when they come back up. However, I know that they can not be helping us get better.

Any advice?

TIA!

Double dose on the acidophilous- It will overwhelm the bad bacteria in your tummys!
Open a capsule for dd if you do not have kids version and sprinkle it on a bite of applesauce or on your finger and rum it in her mouth.
IT works wonders!

The sugar in these items mentioned can make the diarrhea worse. Try to stick with water and unsweetened herbal teas. I use a sleepy tea or tummy tea. Mostly nurse. Also, if it has been this long, watch for dehydration. Even if is appears she is keeping most liquids down, it is coming out the other end very fast too.

Rice water is a good choice. It can be constipating. Boil some rice with extra water and pour the water off and drink.

It would be so nice to have housekeeping right about now. I've had to wash everything on both beds *twice*.

Annabelle is doing fine as of this morning. She's eaten three pancakes and is keeping everything down and inside her. I'm on the couch with the TV remote in my hand. TV is evil, but less evil than this bad bacteria.

I am off to eat the yoghurt we have. One thing that I am unhappy about is the state of yoghurt in this town. There is no Kefir to be found, and all the flavored yoghurts have "Splenda" in it. Blech.

I am glad you are feeling better.

We can get kefir at our most mainstream grocery here now. Don't go for the low fat yogurts, they do have junk in them. Breyers, with the black label has no artificial sweetners like Nutrasweet or splenda. I think it is called fruit on the bottom. Blueberries are good for recovering tummys. My girls love them frozen.
