Sorry about the x-post but I'm desperate for ideas for a kid friendly liquid/pureed diet. Blake is having another palate surgery on Tuesday. He has to be on a liquid diet for about 2 weeks and then a soft/pureed food diet for another 2 weeks. It's easy to think of junky foods that he would be able to eat- carnation instant breakfast, pudding, jello. But like I really want him eating that kind of stuff every day much less every meal! Didn't I see some one talking about making jello (not from the jello box ) instead of buying the box ??

and pleeeeeaase don't tell me he'll eat whatever I puree up when he get's hungry enough, I've heard that one enough lately

(How embarrassing--I meant to reply and created an entire post about this!)

I'm sorry I don't know much about liquid diets, but does he like/can he have soups? Lentil soup and vegetarian split pea soup can be blended until they are a smooth consistency.

Another idea is homemade smoothies if he can have those. Maybe using some milk/soymilk (whatever your family likes) and bananas or other fruits?

Good luck to your little boy, I hope you get some good ideas.
