I need information about what you like and don't like. I've decided if I'm going to insist on cloth diapering my children, I should insist on using cloth for myself.. this is what happens when you live in such a disposable world...you have to fight it!!

So..what is good about them...how about washing...give me your info!!

I like you was pretty leary but felt it was something I *should* do. I was totally surprised at how not uncomfortable they were (i know I know, double negative) they were by no means silk sheets but they were 100x more comfortable than a paper pad.
I just rinsed mine out in cold water and threw them in the diaper pail. but i'm not to concerned w/ stains. hth

I love my mamacloth! The AIO's take a bit longer to dry, just like diapers. I used to just wash them with my dipes. Like above, I rinsed with cold water. If you have plants, it's a good idea to soak in a small pot, and use the water to water your plants, it's a great natural fertilizer!

Only thing I didn't like was that with the heavier flow ones, they do tend to get a bit bulky.

I too was surprised to see how comfortable they were and how easy it was.. I was expecting it to be a big deal. They are however bulkier because you are not dealing with a bunch of liquid sucking chemicals! blech!

OK so I have switched my obsession from cloth dipes to cloth pads now that my last is fully potty learned!
I have not even had my period return yet, (3+ years) let's hear it for EBF!!!!!!!!!!!
But I am actually looking forward to trying out the pads that I have started collecting. I have several different types, and a few WAHM ones too. SO once my moon time returns I will have a selection to try, I shall report back then!

I love my cloth pads...and cloth panty liners are fantastic. I just put them in with my cloth wipe(yup-went that direction too) laundry pail...(old diaper pail) If you want you can soak them in a pot-but you have to change the water every day -blood is a great place for buggies to grow.

They are bulky for heavier flow-but I don't mind it-better than a hot sticky not breathable paper and plastic pad!

I think I'm going to wait and make sure I'm not pregnant before ordering. But I think I'll try luna pads or glad rags..and maybe a kristin's just to have a selection!

I think this is a great choice and I can't wait to feed my herbs!

How do you feel about folding laundry? Do lots of little stuff that needs to be sorted and folded bother you/waste your time? If so, I highly recommend something like rhythm and blues that I personally find a lot less annoying come laundry time. I don't have search through everything to find all of the matching pieces and put them together. I can just toss them in my shoe box and be done with it:) I also think they aren't terribly bulky.

I ordered some kristin's today. In the market section, a mama posted about her sale ...darn if I rmember who, but it's 20% off and she had them, presumably in stock.

It was great to see you this morning at the sale...that place was crazy! I hope you found some things you needed...we sure stocked up on things.

Cloth pads...I was trying to decide the same thing after I had DS3 before AF returned. I ended up making some of my own. I got some killington flannel at JoAnne's (may be hard to get this time of year) and bought a pattern from Eden's Essentials then I altered it a bit for myself.

IMO glad rags were tiny...Christy's sister had some she no longer used and passed them on for me (same theory as used diapers-wash WELL first in lots of vinegar and TTO) but they were like panty-liners. Not much help. IMO you need MORE coverage with cloth than with sposies.

That said, while I found them to be comfortable (I have some Liz Cloth ones too, and I think some KCP's) I wasn't pleased with the bulk needed to do the job. I bought a Diva Cup (like a Keeper but silicone) and while it took me about 5mo to figure it out, I love it. During my "learning cycles" I'd back it up with a cloth pad I made myself or just use OB <shrug> if I got frustrated. You've got to be rather, um, comfortable with your body to use one, however.

LOL..this was a pretty old post, Tracey!! Now I've been making my own and making them for some other folks too. They will become part of my "stock" for the vending thing I'm going to do this summer. I made a couple with microfleece on the top (I guess a modified KCP pattern) and stuffed with flannel and body of flannel that I gave to my "guinea pigs" at my homeschooling group...they really liked them. I also sent one to my 17 yr old that was just soft flannel that she wanted to try but I haven't heard from her about that yet!!

Anyway..I don't like tampons so I doubt I'd like the keeper or diva cup, but you know, I'm always willing to try a new thing. All depends on if I get pregnant soon at this point. I'm in the midst of my 2WW which should end by monday.

Ya know..there are just millions of things to chat about!! We have to get together really soon, I think. The sale was great..wish I needed more stuff but it was great to meet your friend! I have a feeling we'll get along LOL I just bought a bunch of hannas on ebay (thus spending my last bit of funded paypal) so now I'm gonna have to sell something...I have another motherwear dress I never wore though.

I have tried a lot of brands and Pandoras Pads are my favorite. They have no seams where they do not need to be, against your sensitive skin. You can use them as thick or as thin as you need them to be. They wash up great. I have so many that wrinkle up so much you can get them to stay spread out enough to put on.
