I've had pretty good luck at my first couple of "stabs" at ebay.
I'm wondering how to open a premier acct., so I can accept cc's, while still retaining a personal acct.
I've seen some ebay listings that give instructions w/different addresses for paypal funded and paypal cc payments.
Do you just sign up w/a different email address? What about the bank acct. and cc acct. info you have to provide? Do they have to be different from the ones you used to open the personal acct.?
Does paypal have on policy on this "practice" - someone having 2 accounts?
TIA

Paypal does allow you to have two accounts.
If my memory serves me correctly, you can not use the same email addy and you can not use the same credit card.
I have two accounts. One I have linked to my Credit Card and the other I have linked to my bank account.

I find navigating the paypal website very frustrating. Could anyone possibly clue me in as to where I can find that info?
TIA

Thanks for the link.
So, in order to have the premier acct. in addtion to the personal acct. I have to open up another bank account and get another cc?
That sounds like a real pain.
Ugh, I suppose I should just upgrade if I want to continue to ebay.

I have my bank account (and no credit card) linked to one account. On the other one I have my credit card (and no bank account) linked.
I actually did go out an open a new bank account at a separate bank to use on-line. I keep the minimum balance in there so there's no fees. I wasn't comfortable linking our real bank account where my DH's paycheck gets deposited. Know what I mean.

I have 2 savings accts at my credit union and then I have the 2 different emails. I don't have a cc on either acct though.
Take into consideration that if you take cc they zap you fees each time you take a cc payment. On my listings I always use my personal acct for the main payment addy so that I don't loose the money on fees if they send funded payments. I've had to deny several cc payments due to people not reading my listing but they don't seem to mind if they have to resend it as long as it's there in black and white on my listing

So, if you don't accept cc's on auctions, why do you have the second acct.?
I don't bank locally, and dh doesn't want me to open an account because it would make our banking "too complicated."

Hi sorry I wasn't very clear in my last post. I do take cc payments for my auctions I just deny cc payments sent to my funded acct and then have them resend it to my other acct. I do have that in my payment info but most people don't usually read that part
thanks

So you are registered at ebay w/your personal account, include the link to paypal in your auctions, but specify that it is for funded payments only.
Do you explain in the auction that you accept cc's but that the buyer has to email you first for the premier acct. address?
The possible confusion w/buyers over the different email addresses for different payment forms is not a problem?
As you can see, I want to figure out all the possible positive and negative points in making this decision! :)

Actually what I do is when you right up the payment info I put in there specifically that if you'd like to pay by cc please send payment to emily@emcs.net(my other add) so they have it right there and they don't have to fish around for it. MOst people don't even read that part but it's there incase they get mad at me for denying a payment. It's their job to read the fine print. Not mine
