I'm having a miscarriage. I haven't even announced this pregnancy as I've been having problems with cramping, spotting, and right sided pain since the beginning, and just had a bad feeling about it. I had an U/S last Thursday at 6 wks to rule out ectopic (no ectopic, just large corpus luteum cyst causing the pain on that side), and the heartbeat was visible. I was on bedrest from then until yesterday, when I had another U/S, and there was no heartbeat. Does anyone know of a natural way to encourage my body to finish this? Nothing is happening yet, and I really want to get this over with, but would like to avoid a d&c if possible.

Thanks.

I had a miscarriage that was taking a while to complete and I also wanted to avoid a d&c. I took blue and black cohash as if I was trying to induce labor.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. It's a horrible thing to endure.

Hi, First, I am so sorry about your baby. I had a missed miscarriage in December. My Dr. didn't want to do a D&C unless I couldn't misscarry on my own(which I am very thankful for) so after my ultrasound she sent me home and I waited about 2 weeks. Nothing happened so she prescribed me a medication to induce labor. I took one pill and about 3 hrs labor the mc began. Anyway, I know taking medication isn't all that natural, but it was much better than a d&c for me. Please pm me if you would like anymore info about my experience. ((hugs))

i have had two miscarriages, one they induced my labor, hurt like heck, and then i had a d&c. the second i had years later. found out the baby had passed away, and decided to wait at home. i thought, now that i *know* the baby has died, my body will take care of it. two weeks later i miscarried at home, which is what i greatly preferred. good luck to you mama, i'm thinking of you.

So sorry-I have been there too. If you need to talk...don't hesitate.

I imagine the cohash would work well.

I am sorry to hear about your loss. I understand your urgency to have this complete itself. I do know that your body will in fact pass this on it's own in time.
Your doctor might also prescribe a combination of medications that gernerally make up the european drug RU486. Since the pregnancy was sooo early this should help take care of your needs and hopefully help you avoid the D&C.
Be Well-
Karen

(((HUGS))) I am so sorry for your loss....

Please be extremely careful if you try the cohoshes - they can cause hemmorage. I used them & nearly died from hemmorage (I do not know if being in my second trimester made it any more dangerous - but please be careful!) You might try specially formulated herbal/homeopathic combinations meant to start labor, that sort of thing. They dont always make things go quicker though (from my experience).

Also, a wise midwife I spoke with during my first miscarraige reminded me that the waiting time is a good time to greive & begin to come to terms with things.

Please be gentle with yourself!

Peace,
Anne-Marie

3 parts false unicorn and 1 part lobelia

this comes from www.herballegacy.com check out under miscarriage and anti-miscarriage formula and pregnancy

2. Lobelia the Thinking Herb, Helps Abort Six-Week Dead Fetus Easily: This combination can also help pass a dead fetus. How does it work in both cases? The lobelia in the formula is a thinking herb. Where the baby is strong, as in the above cases, the lobelia seems to have the knowledge to assist in healing a tearing and bleeding condition and stopping the bleeding. But if the baby is dead and should be aborted, the lobelia has the intelligence of directing the abortion. For example, a lady in American Fork, Utah, became pregnant, but started miscarrying in the fourth or fifth month. Dr. Christopher was out of town, but one of his students came over to give her some help. She brought about five other ladies from the class. They all brought false unicorn with them, but one of them remembered the lobelia. They mixed it together, and gave the woman the tea every half hour. Instead of the bleeding receding and eventually stopping, the bleeding got worse. Five of the ladies got scared and didn't know what to do, because this was new to them, but the sixth lady (the one who brought the lobelia) said, "The doctor said that if the bleeding gets worse, then we have to rush her to the hospital immediately." They called the American Fork Hospital and asked them to prepare a bed for her. They put her in the car and took her to the hospital, which wasn't very far away. When the doctor had her on the table, she started to abort the baby. The doctor gasped, saying, "That baby is dead, and has been dead about six weeks. I have never seen a baby abort itself like this; you must have been using something special." The lady told him she was using an anti-abortion formula. The doctor said, "I'd like to know what it is, but I don't dare, because I would be in trouble if I used it with any of my other patients. But don't forget what this formula is, and remember to use it whenever needed." This formula saved the lady from a stressful D&C, quite a blessing to her. [EWH p.47]

It happened very early this morning without intervention - sac and all in one shot, I don't know why but I wasn't expecting that. At least I know it was complete. I made it to DS's class Valentines day party today, but by the end of it could feel I was bleeding a lot and have been home since then. DH is taking care of the kids, and I'm hanging out in bed with my feet elevated, and the bleeding is much less. The kids did not know about the pregnancy, so at least we do not have to worry about telling them about this.

Anyway, I really appreciate the support; you ladies are the best. Now onto the business of healing.

Thanks again,

Marlo
