Jon gave the blue outfit to the lady. She was thrilled apparently and very impressed. I finished the sheep outfit late last night... here are the pics...

I'd love to have that outfit and I don't even have a baby...and we won't be having more babies either. I'd just hang it up and stare at it...it's so sweet. You do such lovely work! The little details on that set make it look amazing!

Also, a number of people have asked about binding or have commented about knit binding being difficult. This is how I do it if only one side is on show... e.g. the neckline of a garment. I do it a different way if both sides can be seen at once.
Its an easy and pretty foolproof way of doing it IMO... especially if you have a serger.
I cut 1 1/8" strips. You can get away with narrower but wider make it much less likely you will miss spots. Also it works as a faux facing and gives a little stability. Any wider and it puckers.
First serge the two right sides together. I stretch the binding just a tiny amount. No stretch can make it wavy, too much can make the fabric curl. If you are not sure how much to stretch, try out on a scrap like I did to figure it out. If you don't have a serger you can do a 1/4" straight stitch seam.

Next, finish the raw edge of the strip. This isn't strictly necessary with knits as they don't fray but I think it gives a nicer look. Plus you can set the differential a tad on curves so the binding doesn't pucker when it is turned.
Flip the binding over the seam to the back. Curl it over the seam. This gives a nice uniform bound edge. Top stitch down from front making sure binding is flat on back and is curled over edge.

That is one darling outfit!!! So sweet!! Great binding sew-along!! Awesome pics!! Looks perfect!! How do you bind if you see both sides at once. Do you do the ottobre method....sew binding rs to garment ws......fold down seam allowance on binding then flip binding to garment rs and topstitch?? I find that way is not as neat as your sew-along method w/ knits. For wovens it's fine but I find knits shift so much. Maybe I should make my binding wider and have a bigger folded seam allowance. Maybe that would make it more stable and secure for topstitching. Anyhow, great job Mama and thanks again for the sew-along.

wonderful job bethan
Bethan, that outfit is fabulous. I agree that your details really make it perfect.
And thank you for showing us your binding method. I think it should be part of the sewing FAQ. It's very helpful.
Thank you!

I LOVE that outfit. As another sheep-a-holic, I am a bit swayed by the print, but the detail is what really makes the outfit. Plus, everything looks so nicely stitched and such close attention to detail. Great job!:D
