ugh!!!!!!!!!
is this typical for fed ex? i opened an account and shipped a package. ONE package. so far i have THREE pending fed ex charges for $10 each. UGH! are they going to do this every time i send a package? frankly, i can't use them if it requires that much money being tied up in every single package even if i do get it back after a month or so.

Call them. They have fairly decent customer service and might be able to help. I don't remember having that kind of problem, but I use a debit card on my account.

yep! happened to me too!
I wimped out & had DH call them & explain that I was a little WAHM biz & the multiple charges on my biz card was locking up my account... they were very nice & cleared them so that only one "hold charge" was on.

Hi Danica, we just switched to Airborne Ground services for a lot of our shipping. They are willing to do bi-weekly billing. Fed Ex would only do that if your biz phone was listed in a telephone book???

Someone else was talking about Airborne the other day. Do you like their service?
Can you print labels online for your parcels & do you have to take them to a local office? I'd love to know more about them if you don't mind! :-)

I use a local Office Max that happens to be about 1 mile from my house to ship from. Office Max and airborne are affiliated. The reason we switched was the fact that we were getting tons of bills from Fed Ex and we really wanted to just get a bill in the mail if you know what I mean. The prices at airborne are comprable if not less than Fed Ex. The only weird thing about Airborne are their shipping zones. I live in southern Idaho. I ship to my partner in Connecticut (I ship about 25 lb packages of inventory to her). The ship time between Boise and Conn (most of the east coast) is only 4 days (we actually have had stuff getting there in two) but to ship to northern Idaho or the pacific northwest, should take 6 days. It is kind of strange. You can go to www.airborne.com and look at the estimated ship times to look at your zones. And they do have everything online as well. You can print, etc. They will send you the plastic sticky envelopes to hold the printed ship label.

Oh, so I use my scale to weigh and print the label, affix it to my package and then just drop it off at the counter at Office Max.
