Cool movie! I loved how, when he asked Donald to write the movie for him, the movie itself became "donald-ish"--complete with guns, car chases, etc. It was a fun watch! And I hate nic cage usually, but WOWsers, did he do a FAB job!!!
I thought it was really clever and well-acted, but it got more intense/bizarre as it went on. I also thought Nic Cage was really good - one of the best parts he's taken in a long time.
I just saw Frida - I liked that, too - particularly the effects with the Day of the Dead imagery and making her paintings come to life. And I watched The Hours the other night - that's another one about which I have mixed feelings. Sometimes I identified with the women, but other times I couldn't quite get into their mindset (I guess that's probably for the best, in some instances).

Ok, my sis is friends with Charlie Kaufman, who does NOT have a twin in real life. But, he credits donald in the credits as having helped him write the film! The thing about it getting weird...this is sorta what she told me he said....is because it was Donald writing that part of the movie. If you notice, Charlie *asks* donald to write for him--and the movie, as you realize, is the writer writing himself and what actually happens as he is writing the movie into the script. And the movie Donald wrote, complete with car chases, violence, drugs, etc. is reflected in that portion of the movie. Clear as mud? Glad I could help you out there.... ;)
Haven't seen Frida, is it worth it? And I did see the Hours, but I was on an airplane and the kids were screaming. So I didn't actually *hear* any of it. Maybe I'll get around to it one of these days.

I just watched this last night ! loved it.. really loved nicolas cage in it.. tho i cant believe they were able to make him look so iccky.. LOL! i usually think he is fairy attractive.. but man!
anyway i agree very good part for him, well job done.. i thought it was really funny in a different way ;) now if only i could convince dh that there is NO donald and that he never died like that.... ;)
I WAS saying that the unreal Donald is a fantastic idea, and that I really love movies that stretch beyond the boundaries of traditional plot. I like bizarreness anyway you slice it.
Frida is good - the Ashley Judd/Tina Modotti role is sort of gratuitous (she helped finance the movie, so there you go), but it's worth watching.
We just saw 28 Days Later in the theatre - that's pretty creepy futuristic stuff. Unsettling - definitely not for the kids. We wondered how many people would think it was the sequel to that Sandra Bullock film...
So, Tiffany - are you looking forward to the release of The Two Towers on video/dvd, August 26th? I can't remember much from my viewing of it (cold medicine) but I do recall something like a skateboard trick in one of the battle scenes.
