I think what she's doing is awesome! I personally can't imagine having 100 bottles of shampoo. Maybe she donates some or resells them. I try to stockpile when I can. I don't understand why more people do it.
I am so intrigued by this. It's such a thrill to me to save money. I would to to start a stockpile. I think I'm going to start watching this blog more closely.

I want to do this but donate it to the food banks and our homeless shelter. It'd be awesome imo. I certainly don't have the space to store it. I know some people sell their stockpiles at garage sales.

I don't have any double coupon days and you can only use one coupon/per item (unless you combine store coupons with manufacturer coupons). I'm saving 30-40% off my bill every week. I get several free or even get paid on some items every week.
How do you get paid on items? Even if I have a coupon that says $1 off and the item is on sale for $0.50, I don't get the $0.50 back in change - I just get it for free.

I remember there was a whole website in Atlanta devoted to that idea. Getting all the bargains on food and household stuff, even things you don't need, so you can donate the extra.

Our local supermarket does double coupons, but I hardly ever use coupons because I don't buy much that's prepackaged. Saving tons on toiletries and tp and stuff, that would be very cool! I'm not sure I have the time to add something new to my life, but I admire what she's doing.
Edited - you know what? I just looked at her stockpile of toiletries etc. I couldn't do all that for the toiletries. I go through one can of shave gel a year. That dog food will get stale before we could use it all. I like to use Marcal recycled TP and Cottonelle would destroy my septic. Never mind...
Edited yet again. Okay, I've been reading her archives. Even if I didn't mind buying SO much plastic we don't have like 9 Walgreens or heck, even 1 Walgreens around here...I would use so much $ in gas that this would not at all work for me. I think I'll stick with my goal to not have to buy anything from the supermarket in a few years.

I wish we still lived closer to the bigger city. I used to do that all the time. Did not stickpile to this extreme, but I did. Living 20 miles from the nearest CVS etc, it is now not worth it anymore, but hopefully we move this year and I can start to do this again.
I used to be able to get free GC offers with items all the time, then I would use $ off coupons during double coupon days. My best ever was $8 I paid for over $100 worth in groceries after using coupons.

I have done that before, not a car load full, but a box or two full of stuff.
Like the time I found laxatives (don;'t even use them but bought them anyway lol) for free after using the coupon on the shelf. I bought over 20 boxes of them and I gave them to a lady who took care of the seniors at their church for them to use.
Or the pasta sauce we don't use, but with shelf coupon I got them for free. I gave a case to a friend who has 4 girls. She was happy and I was at the store anyway, just stopped by her house on the way home. No biggie.

That's called overage. A grocery store will not give you change back from a coupon, but many stores will credit you with the whole coupon amount even if it is more than the item cost so long as you are buying other things as well. So you are making money on the deal and getting a discount on your other items.
Jane4girls posts a lot at hotcouponworld.com but I haven't followed her posts real closely. It's my understanding that she had quite a stockpile before starting her $800 year for groceries so even though it looks like what she is buying won't make meals, she has other staples in the pantry to fill in the gaps. I think the 100 shampoos, etc. are really purchased more for the overage. She can use the money she's making (register rewards, CVS ECBs) to buy other items she needs.
I think it is cool that she can make her money stretch so far although I don't think it is really for me. Once, I got a little too into coupons and ended up with something like 40 shampoos and conditioners in the closet. It then dawned on me that maybe I had gone a little off the deep end. Now I just stockpile a month's worth of items. But still, I bow to those who take the time and energy to make the deals work for them. I think it's pretty amazing what they can get for their money.

I know I would never purchase H&BA or food at a garage sale but I think giving to food banks or homeless shelters would be AWESOME!! I'd SO do it for that purpose - keep what we need then have fun bringing in tons of "gifts" to the shelters and pantries for free! That would bring joy to my heart and others - I think keeping 100 bottles of shampoo for a family of 4 is kind of over the top. Can you imagine a sudden fire in your home and losing all of that?
