hey moms of teens - when do you stop doing easter baskets?

and other holidays for your adult child?
Chelsey is 18 and I'm still planning on having an Easter basket for her this year and tom thinks I'm insane. She's still my baby though, ya know? I figure even when she moves out I'll have one for her here lol. Just like she'll have a stocking here at Christmas. I guess I figure it'll stop when she has her own family.

We stopped birthday parties at 16 - that was her last - then it was dinner with the family and gifts over coffee and dessert. I'm expecting she is still going to come Christmas morning here when she moves out until she is married, right?

So what about you?

Well, my kids are younger, but my mom had an Easter basket for me up until she died. For reference, I was 29. Now, once I had kids and she had grandbabies, they started getting most of the loot and my basket decreased in size dramatically.

This may be the first year he doesn't get one, but that is because I don't think he will BE here. His spring break is earlier than Easter.

dj is 18 and doesn't live here anymore (although that's likely to change very soon), and i intend on having a basket here for him every yr, as long as he's closeby.

same goes for xmas~

DH's parents still do easter baskets for both of us and stockings too. I don't remember when my parents stopped though, maybe when I moved out?

I would have one too for an 18 yr old

You are right she is your baby. When I was a teen, we had some treat for all holidays while we still lived at home, although I am not sure if it was a full big basket at Easter. But after I moved out (I moved away), my folks sent maybe a chocolate bunny and a card with some cash in it, and similar things for other holidays except Christmas, which I came home for.

My mom did one for me until I moved out of state when I was 23. When I moved back, I still got a chocolate bunny each year.

I plan on doing easter baskets for my kids until they move out too.

My dad stopped doing them for us when we stopped believing in the Easter Bunny.

Yup...me too(but with much better chocolate than when I was young)! I think I'd be sad if I didn't get my basket.

My mom does an Easter Plate for me (and one for dh too). It's not as lavish as my baskets were as a kid, or as the ones she does for my kids but I look forward to it all the same.
