bouncing bunny I've noticed lots of newer members lately!! Does anyone have any questions?

I have been happy to see lots of new posters in the last few months!

Welcome, everyone!!!

I thought it would be nice to have a question and answer thread, where the new members could ask any questions they might have. And we'll do our best to answer!

Stumped on any of the lingo or abbreviations? Unsure of how to post a picture in a thread??

Just ask!! Someone is bound to have an answer for you!

Spam is usually when you're advertising something you have for sale. Like, I'm about to "spam" you by saying: FOLLOW THIS LINK! (lol! Sorry)....

Spam is also all the junk mail you get in your inbox. I will take Amity spams ANYDAY over email spam -- unless it's from an Amity mama

I've got a question...

How long has this site been around? What's the history behind it? I know bits and pieces but I would love to know how it evolved from start to finish ~ condensed version is fine!

I've been around for a good long while (not as long as many) and I'd like to know the Amity's World history too!

Re: I've got a question...

We will be celebrating the 6th anniversary of the *birth* of Amity's in August.

It started out as inside the web, then moved a few different boards. I've been here 4 years (?!) and we've moved boards at least 2 if not 3 times.

I'll pm AM and ask for her help with the history (unless some of you VERY old timers wanna jump in!)

I've been around for awhile too, but want to know what (m) means in post titles. I cannot figure that one out.

When you see (m) in a subject line

it means more text follows (so look inside for the rest of the *story* or whatever it is).

But doesn't that apply to almost every post? I guess I still don't *get* it.

And sometimes you'll see"n/t" in the title, which means there is No Text in the message.

I don't see the (m) (nt) thing so much here, but used to see it used all the time at Parents Place, where a lot of times you can answer a question in just the title. That way you don't have to click and open a post that only has info in the title.

So, Stacy.... you callin' me an old timer? I've been part of Amity's since about 2 Nov of the year it started. There are a few others here, too, that have been here that long... some that are a lot more active still, too.
